  • "cannot decode dolby digital from optical in on live drive"

Pros: very expensive and promise of great features

Cons: very expensive, cannot use the features advertised. It cannot decode 5.1 from optical in, well it can but you get terrible lip sync issues whilst using external dvd players and either the optical in or coaxial. Stay clear and get a fisher price sound car

Well I have had this one for over a year give or take, and had great results with it.. I have used the optical in from a DVD player and worked. I have also recorded guitar and it sound great. The software is not the greatest.. but for a novelist.. I thinks it's just dandy. But as for not working.. I have had Windows XP, Windows 2000, and the there are a few issues with it... since the update on the Service 2 for xp... but besides that. I think it's good. But unless you are a pro and I mean not a pro amature... the big dogs that work with the big boys external units. You can't get any better than this. <img border="0" src="http://www.cnet.com/i/mb/emoticons/happy.gif" alt=":)">
