"Problems w/headphone vol. & can't get any tech support"

1.5 stars  | on by phoenix2010a

Pros

Able to use my 5.1 surround sound speakers
Interface seems easy to use

Cons

Unable to control headphone volume. Before I installed this soundcard, I had no problems with headphone volume. Now it is set at one level - too loud! - and tech support is nonexistent.

Summary

I would not advise buying this sound card. I bought it because Sound Blaster has a good name, but I don't think their good name will last long if they keep this up. I have tried many times to contact tech support on the Creative website, but the link ... Read full review

I would not advise buying this sound card. I bought it because Sound Blaster has a good name, but I don't think their good name will last long if they keep this up. I have tried many times to contact tech support on the Creative website, but the link to send an email doesn't work and no phone number is listed. Good thing I can still return the sound card to Best Buy!

"Major Piece of Junk (for Windows 7)- Youve Been Warned"

0.5 stars  | on by J-Critic

Pros

If you leave it on the floor and a barefoot burglar breaks into your home it will probably injure him if he steps on it.

Cons

I bought a pretty high end pc with windows 7. It came with this card as an upgrade. What a joke. Unless you are into heavy crackling, popping and snapping when listening to your music, I suggest you stay away from this one. I spent DAYS with HP custome

"This card blows"

1 stars  | on by darjamo

Pros

Supposed to be better for gaming, but none of my games were recognized, and I play alot of online FPS. But I didn't really care, that's not what I bought it for.

Cons

I bought it for the "record what you hear" function that I have used for years on previous cards, only to find that the capability has been removed. I have literally lost money because I use that feature in my business. So long Creative!

Summary

Can't record internal, makes this card junk for me. Also, I used to use Wavestudio to save recordings as MP3...that feature is gone now too. Can only save as WMA. This card sucks!
