Pros Not Sure, but if It's along the lines of Most Creative Prods. I'ts Probably Good
Cons Maybe Vista Issues, for those who say it's crap...
Summary I've Had two Creative Soundblaster cards. The Live! 5.1 and the 24bit Digital Live that I've been using since, Well I wore out my fiisrt pc, that I used for music creation, transferred this card to my new pc, and, It was a gift bought from amazon from My Aunt in AZ. Used....No pops cracles etc, I run XPpro, and still get updates, supports, etc. I use it for optical input from harddisk recorder for tacking into DAW for editing at 24/96. Never had a complaint. Never had a problem...Run it as 4.1/Old JBL pro Logic1 analog 5.1 and shelf system from wayyy back, still knocks the papers off my music stand!
Pricewise, If it's as good as all two of the other Creative souncards,Wait I had a Live 5.1 usb wayyyyy back before my internal cards, that I gave away, and kick myself along with the earlier 5.1 (because both had the EMU Chips, and a Bopatload of Soundfonts, that I thankfully Backed up on a Cd.
I've released An album using this current soundcard from about 2003 (Version 1.01 I believe) Don't plan on Getting rid of it, except to maybe get a little newerversion.
That's my personal experience with creative products, I only put 4 stars because I've not used any of the newer xfi/ or whatnot....But I would rank all three of the previous units that I've used as 5 of 5! I've burned through a pc and am on my second one, and it's still rocking, if anything faster now. The only drawback is latency, which is really a non issue since I track everything externally. But that's just par for the course all of the ASIO's i've used work with it. but I end up using the hardware on the card because there seems to less latency issues.
I know it sounds like I'm Blowing smoke but this is the truth, Thinking about it, It does kind of blow my mind that I've been using the same card for so long. I may retire it and have it bronzed! It still Kicks serious Ash!

Pros Best possible sound from a PC
Cons Not enough inputs
Summary If you listen to a lot of music stored on your PC, this card is a must. Whether you use all, some or none of the many special features this card's software offers, the quality and fidelity of the sound is second to none and well worth the price of the card. BUT, there is no substitute for high bit rate. A 128 kps will NOT sound as good as 320 kps
Pros excellent sound, 24-bit crystallizer is neat, good value for money
Cons lots of useless software, mode selector gets annoying after a day, known compatibilty issues
Summary Now that I have the card working properly (which took a few frustrating hours and lots of scouring message forums) I can say I'm quite happy with it. I wasn't experiencing the crackling/popping most people complain about, but a "stuttering" when playing songs in iTunes. I first tried changing PCI slots, then updating drivers (including the beta), re-arranging my RAM, uninstalling bundled software...I tried everything. It was updating my BIOS that finally solved the problem. I'm running an Asus P4B533 mobo, P4 2.4 (@ 2.75GHz), Radeon 9600XT, 2Gb ram, 2 Seagate Barracudas, cheap 500w psu.
Hope this review helped out.
Pros Exellent sound qulity even from mp3s
Cons Need more settings on the sound card, for example for different beat rates
Summary This is one of the best purchases i have made in years!
I was really wondering does it REALLY make since to stick to one piece of technology and not even trust the others?
I was very loyal to my old sound card which was like 3 times the money and one of my friends advised it for me and i was very pleased!
I have very high standard for music quality so i need a very good sound card especially for creating my music.
Trust me that it will beat your old sound card(or if you have a motherboard soundcard than you must really change to a normal sound card)
Even if you use mp3 or wma it will feel like HQ wav. And if you get your music into WAV format that you’re talking!
The bass is so much better with this sound card, i you have good speakers than the bass will blow woman’s cloths off!!(or men’s depends what’s on your mind)
