Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook (sound card)

Summary: I have owned this sound card for about 2 years. I owned a previous model from creative labs that lasted a long time. This card is not meant to improve the sound on the speakers built into your laptop. I use this card to pump music into a surround sound system. I love the software and the versatility it offers. I'm able to pump out sound like a night club. The previous post must have been using it to improve the sound quality of his internal laptop speakers. Thats not going to happen no matter what you do with any card. I am very computer/sound savvy........if you dont have good speakers which no laptop does..... your not going to get good sound.... my friends are amazed!!!!!! start with a good receiver and speakers and your going to love this!!!!! Unfortunately creative labs is sold out of this item, and it apparently looks like the end of the "express card era". You might find this card on Amazon. If they discontinue descent sound cards for laptops.... I might be forced to buy a desktop tower with an internal Creative Labs sound card to power up my night club living room. That or I might just buy another one of these to keep on hand should this one crap out...........
