"Very nice speakers" on by theresa83
Pros: Easy to set up, very good sound
Cons: Not audiophile quality; first set had a defective tweeter, exchanged at store
Summary: I got these at Best Buy; big props for the good customer svc at returns when I took back the set with the blown tweeter the next day. The replacement set is very good, got them about 3 months ago and NO problems. Not even distortion, and we have 900 MHz phones. Very easy to hook up, just plugs into RCA jack output in back of your receiver, such as VCR out or Tape out (but not Phono out, remember there's a preamp in there!). I actually bought 2 RCA extension cables so I could get the transmitter a few feet closer to the room I would be using them in. Still, the signal goes across most of my bigish house without a problem. The sound quality is very good, and I am picky so that is saying a lot. But not much bass, we are relying on our main subwoofer attached to the receiver to deal with that. But very nice to get music into another room without having to blast the main stereo volume like we used to, excellent for entertaining or background music. Overall, I am very pleased, they were exactly what I wanted.

"This product was a disappointment" on by hansman
Pros: Nice audio sound
Cons: irritating hiss and noise from interference
Summary: These speakers were a disappointment. They would sometimes work great, no interference. But other times, there would be periodic bursts of hiss which everyone in my family found irritating. I swapped the speakers, changed positions of the speakers but to no avail. I did not realize the base broadcasts to the speakers via an analog signal; I thought surely in this day and age the transmission would be digital to eliminate noise. But no dice. It's a shame because the audio quality is good. These units would perhaps be useful in a surround system where the speakers are in the same room as the base. I'll be packing these up tonight and returning them to Best Buy tomorrow.

"This product is the best out there for wireless speakers in this price range." on by BrookeLawler
Pros: Auto Tunes, Easy
Cons: Nothing close to surround sound
Summary: This product is great. I have tried other wireless speakers and get a humming noise. If you set both of the speakers on mono you get just what you are looking for, sound in other rooms or even outside on the deck without hassle. We love it! We hooked it up to our tv and turn the satellite to a radio channel and listen to commercial free music on the deck with friends! My husband can also listen to the game while in the garage doing other work! If you are looking for something like this, this is your best product out there with out spending a lot of money!

"Great Speakers worth more than I paid for them." on by KATEINTHEDESERT
Pros: We have had these speakers for several years now. They have never failed us in any way. We take them outside when working in the yard or sitting on the porch. They have a great sound when listening to music.
Cons: I haven't found anything I dislike about them... except maybe you can't buy them new any longer.
Summary: I have tried other speakers and by far these are the best so far that I have come across. I will be looking for second hand ones for our other rooms in the house. Thanks Acoustic Research for a job well done.

"After one year, one speaker died, cannot turn on." on by RetiredTurkey
Pros: Sound quality fair ... but with the AR label is should be GREAT.
Cons: AFter one year, one speaker died. Cannot turn on ... period. Power pack is good. Batteries good, will not turn on. I am screwed.
Summary: Would I waste my time again with this product ... nope...
Cannot contact AR with any questions ... they appear to not exist.
