"Best iPod Speaker System Available" on by jheflin
Pros: Great Sound and Looks
Cons: Very Expensive
Summary: The perceived quality of sound is, at best, partially subjective. That is show in the review of this product in CNET. They are correct, it is a striking piece of industrial art. It is also very expensive for the average iPod user. However, they missed the mark on the sound quality. NO, it does not sound as good as my floor standing B&W speakers, which cost me in excess of $5000. However, with regard to iPod speaker systems, it shines. The first thing I played on mine was Led Zeppelin's When the Levee Breaks recorded in lossless. The drums sounded like they were in the room with me and Page's guitar playing in the flesh. Did I crank it up to full volume? NO. I understand this is a compact iPod shelf design and not made for such activity. All other much I played, ranging from country to classical was truly music to my ears. My iPhone works great with it and I can adjust my bass response with the speaker adjustment. You can find other iPod systems that are louder and cheaper but you will not find one that sounds better than this one.
