"New take on the boombox falls short"
Pros: Portable, lets multiple people listen, good for traveling
Cons: No amp makes it somewhat useless
Summary: I bought a similar bag to this by Parcel/Loop, that plays on the boombox concept. Originally, I purchased it to take on a trip to Mexico with a friend. We both love music, so we wanted to have something that was portable. We chose the bag over little travel speakers b/c it was dual purpose - a good beach bag and it plays tunes.
However, we were disappointed with the sound. Without an amp, we couldn't hear anything on the beach unless we laid there with our heads on the speakers. But, it was good for listening to in our room when we were absolutely quiet (note sarcasm).
I wouldn't recommend the bag until they can get an amp in it.
Oh, and I do have to say, we didn't have any theft issues - though my bag was brown, so a little less flashy - while my friend and I traveled all over Mexico via bus.
