I have come to know of Zvox mainly through internet research. Was looking for a simple 1 maybe 2 box system to enhance the sound of my flat panel TV and was already eying your Zvox 325 from a few years ago but just could not place it right because my TV sits on a traditional stand. The Z Base 550 works perfectly as it not only solve the placement problem but actually elevates the TV to a more comfortable viewing angle.
Your Phasecue surround sound is only about 50% maybe 60% at best compared to a real 5 channel/speaker system, but that is ok, I knew I was not going to get the full effects before purchasing your product. I cannot and have no interest in cluttering up my family room with 5 speakers. What impresses me about the 550 is its tonal qualities and musicality. This really help with dialouge and music reproduction for TV shows and movies.

Pros: I'm not a techie, and this unit came out of the box and was an easy plug in to get it up and running. Its slim profile flows seamlessly with the TV that sits on top of it.. The adjustable sound that comes from this unit is exceptional!
Cons: Original "credit card" style remote was a major oversight but they have corrected it with a new, more powerful remote. Just got it and it works great!
Summary: I simply wanted better everyday sound from my new $1,500 flatscreen without the expense and hassle of a typical surround sound system. I would have spent more in labor to have it installed, then I would have spent on the system itself.
The ZVOX system supplied everything I wanted: ease of set-up (even I can plug my own cables into the back of the TV), great sound adjustable to my liking, and a simple, clean look that complements my flatscreen. No wires running around the room, sub-woofer in the corner, or speakers hanging from the ceiling. Just a simple, slim, modern looking unit pumping out great sound. I can't give a high enough recommendation for this product! -

tore out the ad. Checked the web site. Asked a
friend for advice. Ordered. That simple.
And I LOVE my ZVOX!
Makes my new 47" LG sound WUN DER FUL!

Pros: Ultra simple to set up, easy to use, looks and sounds great
Cons: Nothing comes to mind!
Summary: I've been in AV for 25 years, and the 550 HSD is the best value of any home theater audio product I've ever used. It sounds amazing, and essentially disappears when you put a TV on it. It' simple to teach its volume control function to a Tivo Glo learning remote, so you can have a complete Tivo-based theater system with only one remote. Remakable.

Pros: I have a small TV room where we watch TV. We did not want to setup an AVR with speakers as we have in our main den. This product was just what we needed. It is EASY to setup It works with our Harmony remote. It gives rich sound. Just what we needed.
Cons: Not sure the con... if you need more than this then you should setup a 5.1 or 7.1 system
Summary: We love the product... it works our cable, blu-ray, etc... no extra remotes since it works with our all in one remote so it came in and was part of the room in minutes.
