"Outstanding value and performance" on by TheHorsts
Pros: Great value in a relatively compact enclosure
Cons: Not able to produce the lowest notes in the largest rooms
Summary: We now own 2 of these. Originally purchased it for a home theater setup in the master bedroom. So completely impressed by its performance, we purchased a 2nd one for the family room.
Was considering their larger, more powerful STF-2 for the family room, but it turned out to be a bit too large to just hide out of sight. The STF-1 was so compact, it fit in behind my main speakers (PSB 4T's) and REALLY rounded out the low end.
Not rated for the lowest notes, but it seems to exceed its ratings. We were instantly experiencing "new lows" in movies such as Finding Nemo, Pirates, and everything else we watched. Also sounds GREAT with music.
At just $300, it's easily the best bargin in subwoofers. It's a "10" at this price point.
