"great driver and enclosure"
Pros: lots of low floor rumble for home theater
Cons: the worst amp in a subwoofer ever
Summary: Took a pb12 and ripped out its blown amp and made it passive, pushing it with a Dukane 1a4250 rated at 280 watts mono at 4ohms and an old peavey Xover ,WOW it really hits hard .was afraid of overloading the amp driving the 2 ohm load of the driver by its stable and has yet to shut down.the db levels are almost to much to handle in some cases.just got a second one with blown amp on ebay and wired it in series to get a 4 ohm load and the bass knocks plates out the kitchen cabinets .buy these blowm subs and replace the amp but beware low driver ohm load. my total cost $60 for amp $50 each for blown subs $160 $45 shipping $205 total thanks Ebay.March 06 sbcarras@comcast.net email me if you have questions.Updated
found info on the driver that said it 2 ohms on an AV forum , but they appear to be in the 6 ohm range, the only numbers are ss-w12h-s and 10 04 00 if someone has the facts on this drivers contact me,with both of these converted to passive and wired in paralell they show 2.5 on my meter .when I push them hard with by my Dukane 1a4250 amp the heat sinks hardly get warm even after hours of high volume music. forget wimpy plate amps ! these PB12s are exellent little passive subs.
