"Great sub for the price"
Pros: sounds great and compact enough to be wife/HGTV compliant
Cons: may depend on reciever
Summary: I bought this sub to replace a Velodyne that was so big and powerful that my wife "suggested" we move it to the movie room and find something less conspicuous to replace it. I actually didn't have high hopes for this Yamaha, but decided to give it a try because it was very slim and compact. To my surprise, it performs very well. I had to raise the db setting on my reciever to +5 db, but that still allows me to have the control on the sub set at 6 (out of 10) for most uses. Plus the controls are very conveniently placed on top.
