  • "The best surround sound system for under $2500"
    on by Tender_Branson

Pros Beautiful finish (I've seen both the cherry and piano black (I own the latter))
    Amazing sound
Perfect size for small and medium-sized rooms
    AWESOME customer service
    Fast (and free) shipping
    Great return/upgrade policy

Cons Internet only ordering, so you have to take a leap of faith
Subwoofer is EXTREMELY tricky to calibrate

Summary Although this is my first surround sound system (powered by a Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH), it is far and away better than anything I would have expected for $1600. I'd been researching speakers for well over a year, checking out various electronics stores and friends' set-ups, and I finally settled on these (the day after the CNET review was posted). These speakers are stunning in every way, from appearance to sound, and I love the minitowers.

The customer service was great. The speakers arrived two days after I ordered them (yep, the subwoofer was on backorder for me too, but I'm not going to hold that against Aperion . . . it's not their fault that their speakers are uber popular), and Aperion threw in an SPL meter (for free) to help calibrate the speakers. A co-worker went ahead and ordered the 6Ts (he has a bigger room), and he had nothing but positive things to say about Aperion as well, since he called them to consult which speakers to buy. I will be an Aperion customer for years to come.

  • "Aperion Speakers are the way to go"
    on by pziegler

Pros Price, build quality, customer service, little extra's that a great company provides, SOUND!

Cons Have yet to find any other than I live in a "sound proofed" condo, and have pissed my neighbors off a few times.

Summary I did a lot of research before buying my speakers. CNET was actually the site that led me to Aperion audio. Before watching their Aperion video I was set on a Bose Lifestyle 5.1 V35 system. Boy I am glad I didn't spend $3300 on speakers with paper drivers. I went to Aperion's web site and called customer service and told them I was interested in their speakers. I was amazed at how much they care about their customers. I was asked about the dimensions of my room, as well as what I would primarily be using my speakers for. I waited a little bit longer to purchase, but finally committed to 2 4T's, a 5C, 2 4BP's and the Bravious 10D subwoofer. I was just impressed so much with the little things. Like after purchasing my speakers Aperion sent me an e-mail saying the name of the employee who was carefully packing up my speakers. When I received them they were packaged excellently inside of purple velvet bags! They included gloves for handling my speakers as well as a decibel meter for setting up my speakers. All of these things weren't really necessary but added to a great overall experience. You know that experience you get when you deal with a company who really cares about their products and customers. I felt that with Aperion. On to sound quality, amazing. I have my Aperion's hooked up to a Pioneer vsx 1120 k and am absolutely astounded by the sound. The 5c brings out amazing dialogue in movies. The Bravious II 10D provides amazing low's that can rattle the walls. All of this for an amazing price. An great 10 year warranty. I could not recommend them any more. I am a customer for life.

  • "I have to recommend these speakers."

Pros Small, fits in most rooms easily
    Speakers sound amazing
Beautiful Finish (I have the black which goes with my Pioneer Elite)
Bar none the best customer service I have ever received while shopping.

Cons --They were out of sub woofers when everything was shipped. Although they called me in advance and let me know right away...I am just impatient, like a kid on xmas.

    Summary Bottom line:
I am no audiophile but these speakers rock. I was running a pretty crappy system before so this was a huge step in quality. I would often have problems with hearing the voice track with my old speaker setup. I switched the speakers out, and instantly noticed a major diffrence, clear, crisp, wonderful sound. Its also worth noting that even with out having "officially setup the speakers" to my listening position, I noticed an increase in the quality of the surround sound ten fold.

It was also nice having the 7.1 option to fit my Onkyo TX-SR875 (also new with system)

I mentioned above their customer service. I messed up the order online. Ordered extra parts that I didn't need. One of their gurus called me to check on the order, fixed it and even saved me a couple hundred. Then they shipped the order. It came within 3 days.

They also sent an audio gauge to help tune each speaker to the listening position
Speakers were also well packaged and wrapped in silk/velvet sacks (I expected to find a jug of crown royal somewhere!)

No comments for the subwoofer, I have not received it yet.

Pros Finish - unbelievable in piano black. My wife can't believe how nice they look.
    Sound - great.
Footprint - these speakers take up little to no room.
Customer service - top rate, a company that picks up the phone and answers all questions...even follow

Cons I now want more Aperion products....

Summary When buying my system there were three things I needed:
    - great sound
    - great looks
    - small footprint for speakers
Normally I am underwhelmed after I make a big purchase and wonder where my money went. Not so on this Aperion purchase. Even my wife took one look at these and said what a great purchase, they are gorgous speakers. I had her by in before I even turned them on. Once hooked up the sound was amazing. Buy them, don't look back. Try them for 30 days. Aperion will take them back if you don't like them. How many companies will offer to pay shipping both ways these days? I previously had a Bose surround sound system - I now realize what a joke Bose products are. Seriously, if you ever held a Bose product next to one of these you would wonder how Bose can charge what they do. Yes, Bose has a nice small form, but they are made of plastic and cheap parts?.the Aperion speakers are at such a quality level above Bose products and others in the price range?.I also own a pair of Pinnacle Classic Gold Tower Speakers and the 4T towers from Aperion can keep up with them, and look 10x better.

So in conclusion, if you want a great sounding speaker that looks great, this is one to seriously consider.

Aperion may not like me mentioning this but here goes....not only do they make an outstanding product that sounds and looks great, but when I called and asked for a soundmeter to help calibrate the system - they sent one, free of charge, no shipping costs. How many companies would do that? Granted they have a lot of my money, but that is how to treat a customer. GREAT COMPANY, PRODUCTS, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

  • "Phenomenal Customer Service!"
    on by NoCal123

    Pros Exceptional customer service.

Cons None that I know of.

Summary I received such great customer service that I felt compelled to write a review. I ordered the speakers on the Aperion website, which is very good. Speakers arrived about 2 days later via FedEx (free shipping...yes, I know that's baked into the price, but still it's nice, no?). I realized my impulse purchase was a little too impulsive, so I decided to return the speakers without even opening the box (trust me, I was tempted). Aperion gave me no hassle whatsoever, and they paid for the FedEx return shipping. They even sent me the labels. Based on my customer service experience with the company, when I do decide (responsibly) to purchase a speaker system, I will definitely purchase from Aperion. One more thing...their after-hours voice message is hysterical!
