Pros I have been amazed at the improvment these speaker made over my Bose Acoutimass system. It is hard to believe they are the same price! The 10" sub is pleanty of bass (I have the output set to about 20% and it is still more than my wife likes). Add the on February 22, 2004 | Read full review

Pros I just got my pair via FedEx. Wowwww! You know how beautiful the sats are, so imagine them bigger by 4x plus 50 lbs! The addition of the 8 in subwoofer (with 150w amp) built into the speaker enclosure makes these babies awesome as front L/R HT speakers on December 22, 2003 | Read full review

Pros The first step in making an investment of this sort involves dealing with the company's customer support. Aperion's CS needs to be experienced to be fully appreciated. I honestly have nothing but praise in this regard. Case in point. Each contact I hav on November 7, 2003 | Read full review

"Extremely Happy with my 5.1 + 10 inch sub"
onSummary I've had the Aperion 5.1 plus 10" sub system for exactly 1 year (+/- a few days) and I couldn't be happier. I primarily watch movies through a Yamaha HTR-5650 (by no means a high-end receiver), and occassionally listen to CD's or MP3's from my RCA 5-disc changer (again a very basic play but it does have optical out!). The sound to me is awesome but sound is subjected to your personal taste. I've listen to other products like the Energy, Klipsch, and the much-hyped Bose, etc. and those do not even come close when you factor in the price. Get it, you won't regret it, especially with the full 30-day money back guarantee. I love mine!

"Very happy with my 6.1 +10inch sub"
onSummary I am not sure why the reviewer claims the 10 inch sub has no direct subwoofer connection. Mine certainly does have an LFE input so a single rca cable from receiver to sub is all you need. After having these speakers for a few weeks now I can hear the difference that the break in time makes. They sound much richer and fuller than they did on the day they arrived. I am no "audiophile" so I can't make to many specific comments about how they sound other than I love them for the price. The THX into on the Ice Age DVD never ceases to impress.

"All I can say is Wow"
onSummary I purchased the 10-inch subwoofer to use with my HT system. I have not seen a better build or better looking SW in this price range. The real cherry wood veneer is just beautiful and looks better than my furniture. During the 1st few scenes from Toy Story 2 DVD, with the SW's volume set at mid range, my living room was rattled. On music, SW's cross over was set to 45Hz, the bass on Hell Freezes Over was tight and pleasant. I have looked at and listened to the highly acclaimed, award wining HSU VTF2 sub woofer and conclude the followings, **Construction/Fit/Finish: Aperion ** Movie: tie ** Music: HSU VTF2 has slight edge being able to go down to 25Hz (28Hz on the Aperion S10) ** Customer services and support: Aperion rules This is a keep

"Value can't be beat!"
onSummary I purchased the system with the Onkyo SR800 receiver as well, and also found the music to be a bit edgy. However, I replaced it with a Denon receiver and that smoothed out the music noticably! The imaging and soundfield are second to none in this price range, only to be matched by speakers two and three times the price. Customer service dealing with Ben Fowler is impeccable. Highly recommended!

"Great service - not so great product"
onSummary Ben Fowler is the primary customer service representative... Never received better customer service anywhere! However, the speakers themselves did not meet all the hype. I ordered the system along with the Onkyo TXSR800 receiver (one of the more powerful Aperion packages). For movies, this system is tough to beat, considering that the highly touted Energy and Onkyo's HTIB sets are not too far off in price. I order the 12" subwoofer and it really pumps out large quantities of bass. I would only recommend the 12" if you have a very large room (larger than 16x16 with high ceilings). The soundstage was quite acccurate and wide for the size of speakers. However, the music performance left little to be desired. The fine details of basic cd recordings sound strained - almost nasel-like. Don't even think about listening to the satellites alone. Bass response is very limited for the satellites. Please understand that with this type of product, subjectivity reigns. Give the speakers a listen. The no-hassle trial policy is unmatched. I felt guilty for returning the speakers - return shipping is covered by Aperion so it really is a full "money-back" guarantee.

"Great service and Great product"
onSummary Boy, how can you beat this - Real wood veneer, 1" HDF (High Density Fibeboard) and no middleman to rob your wallet for speakers that sell themselves! Sure they might have some high frequency sibilance, but that is what the "Treble" knob on the receiver adjusts. Anyways, you should really give any speaker at least 24 hours to "break-in", by playing music at a medium level. That gives it time to loosen up all the stiff glues and materials, which can affect how a speaker sounds. Believe me, I've been at the "High-end" of audio, and these speakers rock for the money!
