"Luckily it is easy to take appart as it was to install."
Pros: Easy setup, large sound from TV input sources such as the DVD player and Xbox.
Cons: TV/cable sounded very weak, no 'surround effect', only DVD-audio sounds decent.
Summary: Very disappointed in the Bose Cinemate system. My wife bought it for me for Xmas since she saw me enjoying the demo set up at the store. However, after 4 days in my family room, it made its way back to the store. Easy setup as expected. Nice big sound on DVD's and Xbox, but the TV audio (i.e. my cable TV) sounded weak and hollow. Only DVD audio sounded decent running through my TV through the cinemate system...CD's sounded awful. Suffers from a lack of midrange sound. No surround sound going on, basically a $500 TV speaker upgrade...there has to be better options for the cost.

Now,I wont bother. its sad though just when ya think you can get decent a home theatre package for under 1,000. Is there any other set up in the same price $400-500 range which would give us full rich sound for our cable/ TV ?
