"Good reciever, but buyer beware!"
Pros: Small size, HDMI inputs to pass high quality video
Cons: HDMI inputs don't send audio to the speakers! No digital audio calbes provided. Speaker wires come attached to speakers.
Summary: I bought this system thinking what a great deal for a HTIB system with HDMI inputs for under $300. Well let's just say I was disappointed to find out that the HDMI inputs on this receiver only pass the video from your digital set top box (ex. DirectTV HD DVR) to your TV. The HDMI input does not send the audio to your speakers. Which is crazy if you ask me. The whole point of buying a HTIB system is to get the surround sound right? Well be aware that if you buy this system, you'll also have to go out and buy separate digital audio cables in order to hear anything in surround sound out of those speakers. The receiver has (1) digital audio coaxial input and (1) digital optical audio input. Therefore on my setup - I had to buy the coaxial audio cable to connect my set top box to the receiver and an optical audio cable to connect my XBOX 360 to the reciever. Just wanted people to know you need to buy these cables in order to get digital audio to pass to the speakers from your TV and gaming system. Just an added expense I guess. I also didn't like that the speaker wire they provide cannot be removed from the speakers in case you wanted to use better wire. And the wire they use seems pretty thin and probably weak.
