"It's not "white" you moron! It's silver."
Pros: Better sound quality than any multimedia system out.
Cons: Treble not at crisp as larger Klipsch horned tweeters.
Summary: This system blows away any 400 dollar PC system I have owned or tested (Gigaworks, Promedias, Logitechs, Altec? you name it!) As far iPod speakers, none can touch the iFi with a 50 foot poll, and not in any aspect of the sound either.. bass, midrange nor treble.
This system offers a timbre similar to that found in Klipsch's larger speakers. Of course the sats aren?t going to offer mid-bass blow 100hrz with much impact, and the treble is not as proficient as Klipsch?s larger tweeters and horns, but these shortcomings are infinitesimal relative to the sound improvement this system makes over any iPod or PC system on the market in its price range.
The iFi is huge improvement over the older Klipsch Promedia's, and even the subwoofer gives the Ultra 5.1 (the current best multimedia subwoofer on the market) a run for it. Its equal in depth and near equal in SPL, but it emits even less distortion. This is the smoothes multimedia subwoofer I have heard and iPod users should be spoiled to have a sub like this as the very first subwoofer for an exclusive iPod speaker system. The RSX-3's give superb midrange and put even the Creative Labs Gigaworks sats in their place. These blend very nice with the subwoofer in a seamless crossover that often is a shortcoming of many other multimedia systems.
The iFi is not an audiophiles system, and I think Klipsch is getting into trouble using that word so loosely, but at the same token, any audiophile that thinks 400 dollars gets you a complete 2.1 ?audiophile? system is a moron! Klipsch hit a homerun with this product but make sure you give it a proper evaluation in your own home before manifesting up some bogus option. I had a bad experience when listing to this in the store, but after taking it home, I swear it was a different set of speakers I heard.
