Great speakers for the moneyby tbcass - October 22, 2005
Pros: Great sound, Great Bass
Cons: None for the price
Review: I knew someone who had to give up their much more expensive Bose system in a divorce settlement. I recommended these as a replacement. This person was floored at how much better these sounded than the Bose at a considerably lower price. Are these the ultimate Audiophile speakers? No, but for normal sane people these are great. (I am a recovered audiophile. I think Audiophiles are a little nuts)

Full, rich, even sound, yet light and open, all at a reasonable price.by northwestbob - June 24, 2005
Pros: Rock solid low bass. Open airy treble. Smooth overall sound.
Cons: Only come in black. Mid bass sound a little muddy. Front speakers have to be away from the wall because of the rear firing port.
Review: I have had this Klipsch set up for a couple of weeks now. I actually bought the system piece by piece. B-2s up front, C-1 center, and S-1 sides. I also cheated and got a KSW-12 subwoofer instead of the KSW-10. I am driving them with a Sony 997 receiver. Sony claims 100 watts per channel. I suspect it cannot deliver this to all channels at once. Nonetheless it has plenty of power for these speakers.
For movies, just screened Phantom of the Opera. Thunderous bottom end when called for. But, I also like classical music. The sound is light and airy. Equally important to good low bass is no base when not called for. Voices sound natural instead of booming.
My only reservation is definition in the mid bass region. I have not played enough music yet to know if it is the recording or the system. Based on what I heard in "Phantom", I kind of suspect I am hearing whatever is recorded.
Sure, go with Paradigm if you can afford it. They sound superb. But for the money, I couldn't find anything better. My wife was originally mad becasue she thought Bose looked unobtrusive and sounded good. But, then she heard her first movie on Klipsch and figured the decor could suffer. I bought white grill cloth and am going to paint the boxes white to mollify my good lady.
Sounded so good, I bought a set of B-2s and a KSW-12 for my rec room and a set of Klipsch outdoor speakers for my deck. (These are essentially B-2s in a weather resistant box.) Best Buy was having a sale. The two sub-woofers were essentially free. Enjoy!

Pros: Great for DVD's with lot's of action. Unbelievable clarity and sound. Occasionally Best Buy will put on sale making them a great value. I'm not disappointed at all, makes watching the movies at home a fun experience. I upgraded from an older JBL system
Cons: Well, it's like available in Black only. The Sub is the weakest part on my system, although it could also be the room dynamics. And they are big so get used to the room's realestate shrinking, but, hey, your after the sound afterall.

Cons: availability. bestbuy is the only big-name retailer i could find that carried the synergy line but they were (are) extremely overpriced. brandnamez.com provided my sb-2's yet when aquiring the ksw-10, ss.5's and sc.5, there were none to be found, hence

Loud, Crisp, DYNAMIC!!!by - June 11, 2004
Pros: Incredibile sound. Mids jump out at you, highs can break glass. Makes other speakers sound lame, limp, muddy. I've owned them a year now and I've searched this site for opinions on them. Seems like the only people to give it a thumbs down are people who h
Cons: Sub can be called a bit weak by super bass-hungry people but it goes low enough and loud enough for me. Then again, I don't drive around in a low-rider with a muffler the size of a water main and 4 subwoofers crammed into the trunk that are so damned big

A good system.by - April 29, 2004
Pros: I substituted a 15" for the 10" and added two rear channels to round out the room. A Denon 3801 powers it all very nicely.

Great HT system for nice priceby - March 24, 2003
Pros:
Cons:
Review: JB's review below demonstrates that some "reviewers" are too smart by half when it comes to their audio "knowledge base". In fact, JB, if there is any knock on properly designed, horn loaded systems, its that they are exceptionally revealing, and can expose weaknesses in upstream equipment. With high quality amplification, Klipsch speakers have a history of being some of the best designs ever in their price range. You don't need alot of power to make these sing, which might make some on a budget appreciate the value proposition offered by Klipsch in this package.

Incredible Surround Sound System!!!by - February 14, 2003

Simply Awesome!by - January 6, 2003
Pros:
Cons:
Review: I recently purchased this set from Nebraska Furniture Mart and I got it home, hooked it up to my Sony receiver, and they sounded awesome. I have never heard such great bass. The rear speakers sound great with 5.1. The center and front speakers are also the best I've heard. We also have a Lifestyle 12 Bose system in another room; however, the sound on this system is a lot better.

Horn-loaded tweeters are a joke!by - December 10, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: Horn loaded tweeters are simply a marketing gimic - they make the speaker appear louder and larger to the uneducated listener. However, it is now a known fact that horn loading does not contribute to better sound from a tweeter, if anything it causes distortion of the high end frequencies. These speakers sound great, but they could be engineered much smarter by the folks at Klipsch. Go for a nice set of Polk Audio bookshelfs (like rti38s) instead, they will bring you much better performance (imaging and freq. range/clarity) for around the same price.. polk rti38 sell for 380, timbre matched surround rti28 for 280 and timbre matched center for 199. (Circuit City prices) Thats a total system cost 859 and the performance will blow these out of the water.

Excellent speaker system.by - December 10, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: This is an excellent home theater system. When combined with a Denon 3803 it's really good. The only thing though is I would upgrade the sub to the ksw-12 for more bass. The ksw-10 just doesn't have that oomph for a medium to large room. Overall these are a great buy

They sound great to me, hear them for yourself at the store.by - November 19, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: I started shopping by switching between all the speakers in a sound room, without the salesman. The Klipsch stood out immediately for clean, clear and authentic sound. I didn't know anything about Klipsch, but was thrilled with the price when I compared it to similar sounding speakers in the room. There were others in the room that sounded as good, but they ALL cost hundreds more per speaker/pair. There were also several that cost a lot more, but sounded much worse (Bose, in particular). Go listen for yourself and try to avoid the salespitch before you narrow down the field.

Great Speakers for Movies or Musicby - November 13, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: I've had them for a couple of months and have really put them through their paces, they sound terrific with a full range of sound, much better than my BOSE system. BTW if you read the negative comment about horn loaded speakers being a gimmick, the reviewer might want to remember that Mr. Klipsch was not the inventor of horns for home speakers over 60 years ago, he was the one that perfected them.

Top of the line for the bottom end.by - October 23, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: These speakers are just OK. IF you are into home theater cnet is not the place to find out what products are good. There are many speakers out there that they don't sell at your local circuit city that are much better than these. If you want bottom end speakers they are good. But if you want mid range and higher these are not them.

Great value, but not the best.by - October 9, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: Great value, but I don't like the tweeters on these speakers. I don't listen to much loud music, but when I tested them at high volumes, it really hurt to hear. Screaching, high pitched noise. I don't know anything about their support, since I didn't ever purchase them, just listened to them a bit. I'm going with Paradigm, and extremely happy.

Really coolby - June 28, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: Its a simple system with plenty of power. Wish it came with 2 more bookshelf speakers and the system could handle more wattage. But for your everyday person its great, and as for the price, its a great deal. You'll find the exact same system for triple the cost. The subwoofer is only 225 watts, so i replaced it with my 500 watt infinity subwoofer. i actually sold it to my cousin for a louder system, but that doesnt mean it isnt good. Its a good buy, trust me.

Great for theater... lacking of bass.by - May 6, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: This speaker combination is great. The speakers follow with Klipsch for having extremely high sensitivity, and maintaining completely flat frequency response. So many people say they are lacking in their midrange, but there are few companies that follow what Klipsch does by giving you flat frequency response. Also, on a Denon AVR3802, they do not distort even at high volumes. Subwoofer (KSW10) is lacking in power, however, in my opinion. All in all, great speakers for movies. Music is questionable, however, due to the horn loaded driver.

Great Speakers, but there are better for the $$by - April 8, 2002
Pros:
Cons:
Review: I tried these speakers, but I found that they did not match as well with my onkyo reciever as my paradigms. For a speaker that has the full range of sound required for music as well as the volume for dvd, my vote must rest with the paradigms. At around $450 for my monitor 7's nothing klipsch can offer compares.

Pros:

Review: Don't buy these speakers. I wanted to buy these one, but when I compared with PSB Image or B&W 300 series, I just changed my choice. I listened to the very poor midrange performance of Klipsch. And their horn-loaded tweeters is just a stupid technology to impress buyers.
