"Surround sound with style" on
Summary: I purchased this set originally with the PSW303 Sub and I was truly amazed at how clean the sound was coming from the highs and mids. However, with my room measuring at 18x20, I wasn't impressed with the bass coming from the 8" PSW303. I decided to take them back and picked up the PSW404 and I believe they match up with the RM6700 much better for my room/taste. Take advantage of the $200 sub offer now since you'll end up paying only a total of $799. With my Harmon Kardon AVR 525 pumping 70x5 Watts of total power, it is safe to say you wouldn't need any more than that as it surrounds my 18x20 room completely with highs, mids and lows accurately. I didn't follow the Polk recommended setup and merely ran my sub with my sub out feature directly to the LFE input in my speaker and it sounds fine. I don't believe you need to run all those speaker wires back and forth from your sub to your mains. Anyway, the only other set that comes close to the sound of this set up are the Infinity HS-20 (those come at a retail price of $599 with bottom firing sub) and Boston Acoustics setup which run a bit more at like around $1000 or more. These are a bit better than the Infinity's and about as good as the Boston Acoustics. Please also note that the more expensive 7200's are just about as good as these so don't waste your money.

"Good overall sound for such a small package." on by schmidtlo
Pros: Nice size for small rooms
Cons: Weak center channel
Summary: Although the center channel is weak, the overall sound is terrific for its size when coupled with a powered subwoofer (a necessity). Perfect for small/medium rooms.

"Car wrecks have never sounded so beatiful" on
Pros: A multitude of mounting options makes it easy to place these anywhere in the room with almost any kind fixture (stands, omni-brackets, etc). Excellent mids and highs at very high and low volumes. The free subwoofer workes beautifully for movies but fall
Cons: These speakers are heavy, they require robust mounting brackets, but if you have them on shelves or stands this won't matter. Subwoofer could be a little punchier.
