"This thing is awsome" on by emrtr4

Pros: The best system for the money.

Cons: If only there were more scenes when the rear channels were used.

Summary: WOW!!!! I bought this system with the Sony KBR-60xs955 Tv and matching stand, Yamaha RXV-1500 reciever and Sony upconversion DVD player. I have to say, it is unbelievable. My neighbor has a $ 13,000
Dreamvision projector, with a denon reciever and extremely costly wall mounted speakers. Believe it or not, we spend more time at my place then his. The sub-woofer on this system shakes the house when watching the opening sequence of Master and Commander and with over 200 wats of power, my system sounds and looks better than in the movie theater. The center channel is unbelievable, watching to my Pearl Jam, Stones, and Led-Z DVDs are amazing. You hear words that not even your Ipod reveals. But when the system really is mind-blowing, is when playing Xbox or PS2 with an optical 5.1 input. Everything registers, there is no comparision, and there is no lag time in sound output. These speakers have saved me from being discovered many times in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Plus the color is awsome and it matches perfectly with any contemporary room. If your willing to spend a lot of money for a system, but don't want to spend more on speakers than you did on your car, buy these.

"pretty good pack for those who wants a better speaker set than HTIB, but dont want to spent>1k" on by shu8688

Pros: great sound quality for the buck, and design

Cons: pricy rear speak stand, wont work with 3rd party stand

Summary: I started with looking for a HTIB, like Onkyo HT-S770, and end up with a separated Receiver (YAMAHA ) and RM6800. and after a test, plus a rebate, replaced with RM6900, pretty happy about the quality. CD, DVD, music, moview, all come out great. unless you want to spent more than 1 K, (lots of you do), you cant go wrong with this set. for most of ears, the multi-K unit's benefit is marginal... plus, check out crutchfield.com, free shiping/return/replacement...

"IT ROCKS !" on by tommyhaka

    Pros: sounds great

Cons: none that I can find

Summary: This set really provides all one needs in a speaker system for HT. I don't understand where some say the bass is a little weak??? I think it rocks, literally, as my house shakes when I "kick it up a notch".

"Worth every penny! AWESOME sounding system!" on by sparky1641

Pros: Rich, full sound. Compact speakers. Easy installation.

Cons: Bass module a little weak. Otherwise no complaints.

Summary: I read some reviews about this system on an audio/video website and the reviews were very favorable. In fact one review I read the guy said "my Bose system sounds like an AM radio compared to the RM6900 system". This guy was right. I went down to a nearby audio store and listened to the 6900. I couldn't believe the sound quality. I was actually blown away at how good they sounded - even at high volume, no distortion and clean sound. I was sold. I replaced by Bose system with the RM6900 and man it really sounds good. What I really like is the rich, full sound. Not boomy and not tinny. The Bose speakers sound really tinny compared to the 6900's. One thing I am a little dissapointed with is the bass module. Though it's rated at (I believe) 100 watts, it just didn't give me the "ummph" I desire in bass. It's probably due to the slot port bass design as opposed to a high quaility 12" powered subwoofer. Not a problem - I just upgraded the bass module to the Polk PSW12 and NOW I have a system that I am pleased to tell others about. Best thing about these speakers they cost less than Bose and in my opinion, sound 100 times better. I'd give it a 10 if the bass was a bit stronger, but that could just be my personal preference in bass. It's definately a 9+ system.

"Too bad they stopped selling this" on by Pibley

    Pros: SUPERIOR VALUE

    Cons: Documentation

Summary: Got these on close out last year from Circuit City ($380 unopened box). Never even considered these 'cuz I'd never heard of 'em. Was going for a $2500 Aperion setup, recommended by CNET as a best buy.

My HT room is 19x26 with hardwood floors. You'll see from other reviews I have this hooked up to a Denon receiver. They sound great. I've been told by other folks that own this system that the subwoofer could be better. I have no problem with mine. I thought I'd have to replace it witn an older Energy 8" subwoofer I have but that's unnecessary.

You need to go to the Polk website for better installation instructions as the documentation shipped with the speakers is really not very good. It's good in the basic set-up sense but I see no need to wire my speakers to the subwoofer and then send the wiring from the subwoofer to the receiver...

I added 2 of the smaller side speakers to my setup for a 7.1 surround experience and we love this set up. Friends and family are amazed when they see and hear our set up for the first time.
