"Excellent audio quality for a Soundbar!"5.0 starson by davidgrantaustin
Pros: Way better than what is shipping in any HDTV today and is WAY easier to install than any AVR, HTiB or BD Receiver. 10 minutes vs. 1+ hour(s). Volume leveling just simply works. SRS TruSurround HD virtual surround sound is quite compelling.
Cons: Could have used 1 coaxial S/PDIF digital input to work with other HDTVs on market which do not offer an optical S/PDIF output.
Summary: With the fact that ALL HDTVs (for which Soundbars are designed to be used with exclusively) have digital audio outputs, this unit could have forgone the analog input in exchange for the coaxial digital input. ALL HDTVs have audio inputs, contrary to the reviewers input that not all HDTVs have audio inputs. Audio inputs can be in the form of analog or digital. In either case, the signal can be output from the S/PDIF optical or coaxial output. If the integrated HDTV tuner is used, then the Dolby Digital decoder can come into play, or perhaps from other HDMI sources if the HDTV allows the compressed audio signal to pass through. Wireless subwoofer is definitely a plus for asthetics. Quality audio components were certainly used in this design. Don't let the lack of weight fool you into thinking this is a "cheap" product. Elegantly simple remote control design with additional "system tweaking" buttons hidden away. Easy to mount on wall brackets included. Work equally as well for rear projection HDTV models that reside on tables. Regarding the lack of HDMI inputs, my HDTV has 6. I don't need to waste money on a Sounbar that has more. Who cares about the lack of DTS decoding? Where is the source coming from? DVDs and Blu-ray discs, right? All Blu-ray disc players already have DTS decoders built in to them.
