"Offroad, not onroad"
Pros: great offroad performance, beefy powertrain, excellent storage for gear.
Cons: No hybrid powertrain offered
Summary: This vehicle should really be rated higher, as it was not designed with a tech geek in mind. This is why I believe the editors gave it such a low score, because they are tech geeks. The Xterra is made for people who do serious outdoor activities and don't care about techy frills and other useless items. They just want a solid vehicle that will get them there and back. That's what the Xterra does.

The Xterra embodies everything that is not CNET editor. It's about liberation away from the tethered world, away from even the wireless world. It's about getting out and enjoying the dirt, bumpy rides through rocks and leave all the techno gadgets behind. It's not for people who want to stay connected 24-7 to their desk and computer, it's a tool for people to forget about their daily grind stress and embrace moments of escape from emails, phone calls. So who gives a rat's a$$ about poor technological support. Why is vehicle like this even being reviewed on sites like CENT is really beyond me!!
