"Sports car-like SUV"
Pros: Excellent fit and finish, nimble handling.
Cons: Takes a college degree to learn the dashboard
Summary: We picked up a new RDX with Tech Option just recently. This is my wife's new car as she wanted to move up from her Matrix. We spent hours at the L.A. Auto Show comparing our options. We sat in at least a dozen mid-size SUVs and the RDX had the best ergonomics of any we sat in, and had the best luxury feel of any, except for those really expensive SUVs. I drive a CL-S, so I like a stiff suspension, and the RDX feels and handles like a sports car. The engine is a little noisy if you accelerate fast, but once up to speed, the car is very quiet. Very quite at highway speed. Our Matrix was deafening at highway speed. We took the Tech Package because my wife wanted Navigation like my '02 has. The '07 naviagtion is MUCH improved. Bluetooth works great. XM Radio works great (includes real-time traffic reports). The DVD Audio with 5.1 surround & sub-woofer is amazing. At the Auto Show, we sat in the FJ Cruiser (I like the outside but what a terrible interior for 4 people), the Saturn VUE (one step above a fold-up chair in comfort), the Hummer H3 (a mini version of a Brinks truck with absolutely no vision out the windows), the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CRV (neither had the tech options my wife wanted), the Jeep Liberty (not bad, but some essential interior design features lacking like rear cup holders placed low between seat and door), the Honda Pilot (nice and roomy and good quality but drove like a huge car), the BMW X3 (cost way more when we added up our options) and of course the Lexus and Infiniti SUVs (way too expensive). So when we seriously looked and compared our options and added the features we wanted, we could not pass up the Acura. All-wheel drive, tight sports car-like suspension, beautiful interior, navigation with upgraded stereo, and of course a great feature: separate left-right temp controls for front seat passengers (my wife is always cold, so she can have her heated seats and hot air blowing on her feet while I have cool air on my face). So far, very happy with the RDX. I didn't rate it a 10 because in a perfect world, I would like a little more interior space with the same nimble handling, but that's not going to happen for this price. I'm happy none the less.
