Pros German engineering. Good quality materials. Fun to drive. Low depreciation, very reliable
Cons Expensive to service... U get what u pay for. Replacement battary is NOT $500 as the other review stated. Far better build quality than a Ford Edge
Summary German engineering. Good quality materials. Fun to drive. Low depreciation if you buy second hand...very reliable. You get what you pay for! I would buy another one. I have owned many BMW's are they are very reliable a lot more reliable than domestic brands and better made than Japanese cars
Pros Fantastic engine, XDrive, great brakes, great handling, much improved interior, good fuel economy.
Cons Options are expensive; leather should be standard.
Summary This is a great small SUV. The proof is in driving this vehicle. The 260 hp engine is a wonder and still returns between 22-24 mpg. The brakes, handling, and Xdrive are all incredible. The sunroof is very large and covers both rows of seating.
Carefully pick your options and you can get a great SUV for the money. Skip the navigation system, as it's not worth the money.
Pros X-drive, hands free phone, unbelivable ride
Cons pricey, hit leg on rocker when exiting
Summary Awesome vehicle to drive panoramic sunroof is a nice touch, infinite seat adjustments and bumper to bumper warranty for 4yrs 50k treated like gold at dealer. The unseen features are what sold me after much research (suspension, self level, hill decent, brake drying, etc).
Pros Makes lawyers feel better about low social skils
Cons expensive and unreliable
Summary I have never met a BMW owner who does not have(had) expensive repair problems constantly. Did you know the battery in this vehicle is $500 and you can't use any other one because it has a BMW programed chip in it?
The X3 is underpowered and noisy. You can get a Ford Edge for $15,000 less, have more power, more room better fuel economy and a vista roof that blows this Beamer away. But what would your snobby friends from prep school say -- who cares dump them and get a life.
