Lots of fun to drive!

Pros: The stereo is awesome. The vehicle handles very well. Very little turbo lag and the acceleration is pretty good for a 4 cylinder. The tech package has a lot of functions. The car has good visibility while driving. Great looking car.

Cons: FUEL MILEAGE! I have a heavy foot so I am getting about 16 to 17 mpg on average. There are buttons everywhere and sometimes I get a little overwhelmed. The navigation would be much easier if it was a touch screen. Exterior mirrors are awkward.

Review: This is my 5th Acura. I have tried to go to other auto manufactures but I always come back to Acura. Acura offers the best value for the price and Acura holds its value very well. The RDX is very fun to drive. I have had my 2008 RDX for about two months. I was torn between the RDX and the TL but I needed the utility. The RDX drives like a sports sedan and not a SUV. The interior also feels like a sedan and I often forget I am driving in a SUV (oh I mean crossover). The RDX has an advantage over a sedan because it is higher and gives you a great view of the road. I have found very little blinds spots while backing up and looking around, however the exterior mirrors are awkward. I have had difficulty finding a position for them. The driver seat is 10 way power and is very supportive. I am disappointed that the passenger seat is manual. The back seat is very roomy and comfortable. Entry and exiting the RDX is easy.

The tech package has a lot of neat toys; however the tech package can be overwhelming at times making the owners manual a must read. Most of the car can be controlled by voice commands. But the voice commands are very specific and it is sometimes easier to just push a button. My favorite feature is the stereo. The 10-speaker surround sound system is very clear and the subwoofer is powerful. The best sound comes from the DVD-Audio CDs, then regular CDs and the aux input jack. FM and XM channels sound muffled.

I was a little wary of the turbo at first but I have grown to like it. Acura has done a great job at reducing the turbo lag but there is still a slight lag. I have gotten used to pushing the accelerator a little sooner to make up for it. Once the power kicks in the RDX takes off. The fuel economy is poor and has similar mpg numbers as a full size SUV or truck. I am averaging about 16 to 17 in the city and barely 20 mpg on the highway. It also requires premium fuel.

The handling is superior. I live in an area that rains a lot and the RDX handles wet roads well. The SH-AWD makes the RDX corner without noticeable body roll or skidding.

I would buy the RDX again if I had to do it all over again. I recommend it to anybody if they are not looking for great fuel economy. It has ever gadget you can think of with the tech package and is entertaining to explore the features on long trips. If I could make a list of changes for the RDX I would make the navigation touch screen because the knob can be frustrating, ventilated A/C seats and better fuel economy.

Acura has done a superb job designing the RDX. It is a beautiful sporty vehicle. I get comments often from friends and strangers. I feel the RDX is not as popular as it should be.
