Review summary	The 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid has the practical configuration of a small SUV, along with the low emissions and good fuel economy of a hybrid. Its cabin electronics are up-to-date, although not extraordinary.	The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander offers great technology without getting too expensive while striking a near-perfect compromise between emissions, power, and mileage. It's a practical car for a wide variety of uses. Techies will delight in its cabin systems, but luddites will be overwhelmed by the many buttons and voice commands.	We were very impressed with the 2008 Land Rover LR2, which combines solid cabin gadgetry with a luxury interior. And all this comfort rides on Land Rover's legendary off-road platform. At its price, it's a great value.
