"So Far so excellent"
Pros: great styling inside and out
seems to be solid and well built
wife loves manual shifting feature (I haven't tired it yet)Cons: would like to squeeze a little more mpg out of the 6 cylinder
Summary: We needed a vehicle with a tow capacity of 3500 lbs, and I didn't want a truck, so we traded in our 07 Subaru Forester (if the Subaru had the capacity-we'd still have it). I owned a 96 Saturn SL-2 and although it was a great car, it had a couple of major problems (oil consumption started at 60K-1 qt every 800-1000 miles; and i replace 3 alternators in 100K miles). Both I understand were from a bad piston design, and poor location for proper cooling of the alternator). I was a little reluctant to look at Saturn again, but I am glad I did. WE got a fantastic deal on a used 08 with 35K miles on it and so far we really love the car. The XM music system is wonderful and we did opt to sign up for a year's worth of ON-STAR for $199. I can't find any issues or faults with ithe car and hope to have it for many years before replacing it, or adding another Hybrid VUE to the stable to replace our aging 01 PT Cruiser.
We plan to take many road trips with this car.
