The Bottom Line There's a lot to like about the Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring's performance and cabin accommodations, but the cabin tech, while adequate, is sorely in need of an update. Although we really liked the 2007 Mazda CX-7 during our test period, it wasn't outstanding in any particular way. It came equipped with a good stereo system and good navigation, and proved practical for getting around, and even fun to drive at times. The 2009 Nissan Murano benefits from trickle-down tech options available in Nissan's top models and seems to work best when fully optioned. Regardless of tech options, the Murano is a nimble urban navigator. Former VW GTI owners who need more space for a family will absolutely love the performance of the Volkswagen Tiguan S, but those looking for high-tech options will want to look further upmarket. The Mazda CX-9 is a sporty SUV that packs a lot of space inside but it both looks and performs like a much smaller vehicle. However, the cabin tech lacks polish and needs to be better integrated.
