The Bottom Line Ford's cabin tech sets the 2009 Mercury Mariner Hybrid far ahead of the competition, with extremely convenient features, and the hybrid system allows for gas-free driving at low speeds in this small and practical SUV. The 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 offers rock-solid performance in a very practical small SUV configuration, but cabin tech lacks really cutting-edge features. The higher cost of diesel might make the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML350 Bluetec's superior fuel economy a wash when compared with a gasoline version, but this truck's luxury features make it a very comfortable road tripper. A very practical and easy-to-drive vehicle, the 2012 Honda CR-V shows off a few tech highlights, but is mostly content to rest on its laurels. The 2012 Range Rover Evoque is a luxurious and striking SUV with off-road chops and good-quality, if not cutting-edge, cabin tech.
