The Bottom Line Despite its strongly SUV-styled body, the construction, power plant, and cabin tech of the 2010 GMC Terrain are thoroughly modern, equal to or surpassing much of the competition. The new MyFord Touch cabin tech system in the 2011 Ford Explorer is surprisingly buggy, but otherwise this SUV offers plenty of room and easy onroad driving. A very practical and easy-to-drive vehicle, the 2012 Honda CR-V shows off a few tech highlights, but is mostly content to rest on its laurels. The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse is a big family hauler with a few modern features. It shows a good direction for Chevrolet, but hasn't quite caught up with the rest of the world. A good multipurpose vehicle, the 2011 Kia Sportage offers a solid cabin tech package, but we would wait for next year's turbo version.
