"Excellent to drive, Tech not terribly user friendly" on by LowcountryBoil
Pros: Power train is fantastic. Plenty of Power. Averaging 29 mpg. Great Interior quality. Excellent service.
Cons: The mouse controller is bulky and distracting. Should toggle icons. Mark Levinson upgrade not as good as Bose systems. Unable to operate rear DVD's from main screen in front. Poor interaction with Iphone. Voice recognition poor.
Summary: Very good at what it is supposed to do, driving and getting good gas mileage. The on board computer is poor and requires 3 large manuals to use. The touch screen on a Prius is vastly superior to the complicated mouse they have attached to this. The mouse at the very least should toggle between the icons, not use a tiny arrow that has to be lined up with each one. This is very distracting while driving. Your Iphone can be plugged into the USB drive and accessed through the main screen but it is very annoying that every time you scroll down a screen it starts playing the song at the top, whether you wanted that song or not. A car at this cost point should have onboard MP3 storage and voice recall similar to the Ford Sync. Finally, I have small kids and cannot start the rear screens on the DVD without using the remote which requires reaching my arm back behind the front seats to be recognized. There should be a way to start playing the DVD on the rear screens from the front seat. Overall I love the car, the build quality, and the gas mileage. It is just terrible from a tech standpoint. I cannot imagine the baby boomers who are most likely to buy a Lexus being able to even turn on the radio.

"Fun car to drive, smooth and quiet" on by stockstraddle
Pros: Lots of power, very quiet, great, as usual, fit and finish. Must be a great design. Everyone is trying to copy it! Not too well, however.
Cons: Gps Updating seems to be troublesome. Need cd, usb key, notebook in Lexus service to update. Center storage is a deep, dark cavern, no lights. Overhead switches are unlighted and impossible to see while driving. No dc outlet on dash.
Summary: Great car to drive locally or on a trip. So nice and quiet. When driving on electric power it is like floating on a cloud. My wife thinks it feels much larger than our previous RX-350, but we're getting used to it. In reality it's not much bigger. Backup mirror is great for parallel parking or getting out of a parking lot. Storage are aft of rear seats is a bit larger and the rear seats are easy to fold down. I do not regret buying this car at all. It's another great Lexus.
