Pros Highway Miles
Blind Spot System (On Advanced model)
Overall bang for the buck vs. other high end SUVs
Price selling point with included features
Cons Poor city mileage
CMBS could be better tweaked
Annoying rear speaker auto turn off when engaging rear entertainment
Seats could be a bit more comfortable for very long road trips
Summary I purchased a certified 2011 Advanced Package with the Entertainment option. I had always wanted to purchase that option as most would guess specifically for the young one in my family so it was a no brainer. Got a great deal on the used MDX and I must say that overall am I satisfied with the tech while some might consider old , it's still relevant and very well worth it even in 2014.
I agree that highway miles are really great. I was able to get great gas mileage during a weekend get-a-way that involved a lot of highway driving and the average the person mentioned was pretty much on point with what I ended up seeing during my trip. I really only needed to fill up once with about 40 miles left to spare.
The ACC is great on highway usage and gives your foot a nice rest during those long drives. The blind spot warning is right on and works very well. The CMBS feature is a nice touch but like the review it would've been better if it activated quicker than it usually does. I've had it activate but have not thankfully had it full blown activated when the seat belts tighten up and it begins the braking process on its own.
Overall a solid vehicle if you are willing to save a good portion of money and maybe go the used route. If you do I recommend going the certified route as it extends the various warranties on the vehicle to give you piece of mind in addition to saving you money.

Pros Everything they said
Cons Yes too many buttons and voice directions are too cumbrous. Ingress and egress is not great. Dark jeans stain the light leather seats.
Summary A BMW X5 for a Toyota Highlander price. Well a top shelf Highlander and really good negotiating skills.
