  • "I took a "Limited" out for a test drive"
    on by Justnutz

Pros Real nice interior, nice ride, felt spacious and I liked it's external style. The rear camera was pretty interesting a i wish I could have tried the "self parking" feature.

Cons I thought the vehicle could use a bit more power. The "My Ford Sync" wow,,, That was disappointing and I would not want to pay for it. I would ask the dealership to pay for it since you cant get any decent options without having it included in a bundle

Summary I did not get a chance to get it up on the highway... Just around a small town, but I liked it in general. My wife and son liked it alot... everyone was a bit disappointed with the radio.
Having a SD chip for a NAV is good idea ...

I will look at it again in a few months... Hopefully they will have taken care of that radio user interface.

  • "Drives nice but lousy city mileage and buggy syn"
    on by beemer273

Pros Nice ride, peppy engine for my needs. Very comfortable and roomy

Cons Its a big rig! City gas mileage 14mpg. hwy 20. The sync system is very buggy. Waiting for a new release due out soon. The iPhone 4 does not interface very smoothly with the sync system.

Summary Ford got it 95% right. This is a nice rig but I would recommend you drive it for a weekend before you buy. I'm having a little bit of buyers remorse. I like it but its huge. You sit up so high that its hard to get a feel for the stuff around you so you don't hit it! The interior is fantastic. The sync system is a great concept poorly executed and buggy. Even the clock goes nuts in it. I've had lots of problems with my iPhone 4. I'm hoping the new iTouch/Sync release 2.7 that is due out this week will solve some of these issues. If you are going to drive it in the city, expect 14-15mpg. Forget the 17 rating. It does seem to get over 20 on the hwy.

  • "Outstanding."
    on by blueflame16

Pros First of all. Let me say Thank You to the good people of Chicago who made this vehicle. The Ameerican vehicle is back with vengence. This Explorer leaves all other foreign ones in the dust. It's awesome. Great job Ford.

Cons None, can't believe cnet gave it 3 starts. But I'm sure they'll change their mind over time.

Summary Go check it out for yourself, you'll see what I mean.
