"sure sounds like something I would be interested in"
3.0 starson by altheajjPros: gas conserving while being taller for those of us who would rather, due to being older or because of medical problems, be able to 'fall' out of a car rather than having to 'climb' out of it.
Cons: sounds a more 'bare bones' than I would like

The SL level is no 'bare bone'. It has a very good navigation system as standard. Upgraded Sound system is terrific. The iPod/iPhone integration works pretty well. The leather seating is very comfortable and adjustable.
As for the driving experience, it rivals our Altima Hybrid in pick-up and handling. My 6'2" husband fits in it nicely, and it fits me and my 5'8" self just fine as well.
It's a damned good peppy hatchback that really delivers -- oh and FULLY tricked out is 25k-26k. A MINI Clubman S similarly equipped (which I was about to purchase) runs around 32k-34k, the Countryman even more.
The only possible con so far is possibly the mpg's -- but mainly because it's so much fun to drive, even in Economy mode, that it's hard to resist driving 'fun'.
