Pros: It's very pretty, seats are super comfortable (for when you're waiting for roadside assistance to tow you).
Cons: Complete Hybrid System Failure... at 16k miles.
Summary: My partner and I bought this SUV used. it was a 2012 with 16k miles on it. We brought it home on a Saturday and boy it was a beautiful truck. Come Monday (two days later) my partner had to go on a trip to Tokyo for two weeks. We started out driving to the airport to drop him off. About ten miles into the trip, we get a warning light come up "Hybrid system failure" so we pull to the side of the road, shut the truck off and turn it back on (like resetting a computer). Well, that worked for a mile. Then we get the same "Hybrid system failure" and the truck just loses all power. Luckily this time, we were able to coast to a side street and out of the way of traffic. My partner hops a taxi and makes his flight. I get to stay with this craptacular SUV and wait for roadside assistance (luckily the seats were comfy).
So the local Porsche dealership has the truck towed in, they clear the codes and aren't able to recreate the problem. They have the truck for three days of test driving it and were about to have me pick it up because it wasn't crapping out on them. Friday morning I wake up to a voicemail from the Porsche service guy (very nice people btw) telling me their tech broke down with "Hybrid system failure" and they will be keeping and fixing the truck. So now I don't seem like the crazy customer with "my truck is broken" and they can't find anything wrong (Phew!).
Over the next week, Porsche service informs me they need to disconnect the hybrid system so the tech wouldn't be electrocuted while working on this truck. The tool they need to do this, was ordered and paid for by all Porsche dealerships in America, but no tools were sent, to any dealerships in America, ever. So we have to wait another week to get this tool in from Germany, just so they can begin to fix this truck.
We are still waiting for this to be resolved, and after dropping 65k on a freakin used truck, you would think that hmmm, maybe it should, I don't know, WORK! Two days of ownership and then Two freaking weeks without this truck, and it's STILL not fixed. Heck, they haven't even been able to start taking it apart because Porsche didn't send any tools out to fix it. AVOID this hybrid until Porsche gets their hybrid sorted out. It's not worth the headache.
I will update this when we have resolution...
