  • "DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF SH*T!!!"
    on by kizaw

Pros The car looks really nice. Cool design and fuel efficient for an small SUV.

Cons The car died a week after I purchased it. And to make matters worse the loaner car the dealer gave me while they try and fix my car is giving me problems too. I was warned about Land Rovers and I didn't listen. Damn myself!!!

Summary Purchased this car 3 weeks ago. I drove it home from the dealer and parked it in my garage. I came out a week later to drive it and it was dead. Land Rover sent out 3 different tow companies to figure out how to tow it because of the dial gear changer won't rise from the console to put it in nuetral when the car has no juice. They still have my car after 2 weeks trying to figure out what the problem is. But, to make matters worse the brand new Evoque loaner they gave me until my cars problems have been figured out is acting up. When in drive and I press on the brake to put it in reverse, while i'm parking the car the dial keeps getting stuck in the drive position. I press the brake harder and it's still locked. I let off the brake, still locked. Finally after pumping the brakes a few times it decides to unlock and let me put the car in a different gear. This has happened already 4 times in a couple of days. This is major. It's kind of dangerous considering one of the times it didn't work was during a K turn on a 2 way street. Then a minor issue was in the loaner is with the iPod adapter. While playing music the sound just stopped. Not the iPod that kept running on the screen but the sound wasn't coming out. Tried a bunch of things to figure it out but nothing. It finally worked when I shut the car off and restarted the car. This piece of sh*t has way to many problems. Too bad because I like how the car looks but with all these issues "looks ain't everything". When I get it back from service this Rover is over. I should have stuck with the Germans.

  • "Love this car!"
    on by eledoux

Pros Great handling and styling... Drives as well as the Audi A4 and BMW 5-series that we've owned in the past. Fuel economy is excellent.

Cons A V6 would be nice, but that would undermine fuel efficiency. The wide stance and limited visibility took some getting used to. A bit pricey, but is on par with similarly equipped luxury SUVs. So far, the dealer experience has been less than stellar.

Summary I question the validity of the negative review posted by here by kizaw, because this is (so far) the best all-around car I've ever owned. If the reliability and dealer service holds up, I anticipate being a Land Rover customer for many years.

  • "Evoque Convertible looks premium and flippin' lovely."
    on by hguiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Pros Looks are stunning. First ever premium convertible SUV.

Cons the roof retracts in to the boot. While this will have an impact on what you can put in the luggage area.

Summary There can be no argument that the Range Rover Evoque is one of the sexiest cars currently on the road. Well, you could argue about it, but you'd be wrong. Because Range Rover has somehow managed to fuse a practical car with some impressive modern styling and still managed to keep it as one of the nicest cars to drive currently available. This convertible promises to carry that brilliant range forward.

  • "So far so great. But it's a sports sedan not a truck."
    on by scrannel

Pros Excellent off-road manners. Dynamic available with MagneRide. Engine has plenty of power yet can be babied for better MPG. On-road this is a very tight sports sedan, at least with MagneRide.

Cons Limited trunk space compared with big Range, rear seating a little tight for my taste.

Summary 2013 model is best so far, with excellent Nav and improved all around. It's also one of a few cars in the world that has the option of Magnetic Suspension. (Google it if you don't know what it is). Best suspension in the world. Now found on Ferrari, Audi R8 etc. My car is of a very high build quality and is our 8th Land Rover product. We have had excellent results with these cars. I bought my big Range new in 2003 and ten years and 97k miles later the car has only let me down once. My wife's Sport has been excellent. The Evoque is fun, fast, beautiful, economical and I expect it to give me the same experience the other LRs have.

  • "I can't believe I bought this car"
    on by dichriste12

Pros Looks great, all the bells and whistles are wonderful, very comfortable. Interior is well designed.

Cons I had two major engine problems withing 3 months of owing the car. It is in the shop now after 1 week of figuring out why the car won't start.

Summary The car just shut off while I was driving down a busy street. Thankfully I had the ability to pull out of traffic so I could restart the car. This is major problem #2. The first one I thought I was stranded in the mountains after freezing temps. the car wouldn't read the car fab. I panicked and called my husband, thankfully I read the manual first and remembered that I had to place the key under the steering column and then pressed start. It finally started, that was after 1 month of owning the car. I am debating if I should keep it now that they said they are working to fix it.
