"True Plug & Play"on by bknowledge
Pros Totally Simple
Cons None as yet
Summary This is plug and play at it's best, I bought this so that I can only have one line running into my bedroom and use the full ability of my router. It's just bigger than a pack of cards and you'll be running in less than a minute, for real. Now I have direct lines running to my PS2 and PC and room to add others so that I can have the PS2 run outside of the firewall with out turning it off (DMZ ). No configuring or CD setup.
Pros good looks,small, compat
Cons manel is lacking info for beginers
Summary Great prouduct for home or office
Summary I spent three hours playing messing around with the network at my buddies office, only to determine that the switch was incapable of broadcasting a strong enough signal over a cable about 50 feet. The router from which the original signal was broadcast had no problem at all!!
Summary this is a good value for waht you paid you. i have the ezxs55w switch and it works amazing. i have a relative Brian spend over 1000 on networking equipment (wireless/cable). and this little switch give you works just as good or sometimes even faster.
Summary I bought this online from a direct link off of AT&T Broadband's "home networking solutions". I'm using this to share my @home cable connection between my desktop PC and my laptop from work. Yes, there were other products out there to do the same thing, but how many options do you need? At barely $50 (and rebates available now, too) why waste your time? There was NO configuration to do and it worked right out of the box. Plugged it in, attached the jacks from the cable modem and your computers network cards, and off you go. Other CNET reviews I've read about Linksys products have been wary of the short warranty, but this one is 5 years. Sounds OK to me for a $50 box. It's tiny, it's easy, it works. What more is there to say? You can't screw it up. I'd buy it again.
