Pros good rebats
Cons No Backup Software as claimed on the box!
Summary Manufacturer claims "automatic" backup. After several formatting and various steps to diagnose their software failure, two different technical support reps at Buffalo suggested using a different software to backup. "We sell hardware," they said. Use Microsoft explorer to backup. I asked, what is so "Automatic" about explorer? He repeated: "we sell hardware."
Pros .On sale for 99 bucks at MicroCenter. Not bad for 160GB. .Very easy for anyone to setup and use
Cons .New out the box only shows 148GB total. What happend to 160GB? .Very, Very slow (By the way did I mention slow!)
Pros Simple install & Windows XP compatibility. I paid $159-$80 mail-in rebate=$79.
Cons unable to add to LAN.
"Not impressed"on by rondux
Pros Reasonable size
Cons Noisy and Memeo software is a joke
Summary This is going back. The box says silent it's not - it hums and it 'clunks and churns'.
And the Memeo software is a nightmare. You can't upgrade it - it keeps giving error messages - and you can't get rid of it!
Pros decent budget external hard drive
Cons slow transfer rates
Summary got this w/ rebate at fry's...even without rebate it was about 120. Made in Japan baby, pretty well built. really easy to set up...almost like having a 160 gb flash drive (except like...a lot bigger?)
