Review: I am the average end user type. I have a HP/compaq 2.3mhz AMD with 120gb hard drive that survived several virus attacks over the past 5 years. Its running windows XP Home. I am getting close to replacing the machine.
I looked for two things in a hard drive price and capacity. This unit supplied both. The package is very compact. I copied appx. 45gb of data to this external unit in 20 mins (via usb 2.0). Including dvd movies, games, pictures galor and about 10gb of itunes songs.
This unit is plug and play. It has an off/on switch. Switch it off and on as you need without unpluging it. The computer recognizes it immediately.
The only draw back so far is it needs its own power supply. I am aware that some units utilize an all in one USB cable. Oh well, for $69 I am not complaining! It comes formatted for windows pc. Just plug and play.
