Simply the iPod of personal hard drives.

Pros: Price (check the deal at TigerDirect)
Instant gratification, esp. with Firewire 800
Matching dock and traveling wallet--too cool.

Cons: Not fulfilling for tinkerers and problem-solvers. It's instant, automatic, incredibly easy, effective and dependable.

Review: I've been through WD Passport and My Book, Iomega Prestige (never again!), Cavalry (better than its rep), and Toshiba (reliable). This nifty number of Seagate smokes them all. Especially if you have an iMac or Pro Macbook with Firewire, there's no other drive worth considering at 500 gb and less. It's worth twice the price of my new Iomega Prestige 500 GB (which appeared on my desktop after 2 days of configuring and reconfiguring). At this moment, there a huge price disparity because of TigerDirect's drastic undercutting of the competition.

Very Good Hard Drive

Pros: Reliable, 5 year warranty

Cons: None so far, except maybe it is not a 7200rpm drive

Review: This is a great package. Hard Drive, dock, case. Everything you need to get up and running on a Mac. The package comes with all the wires needed to convert FW800 to FW400 if you do not have FW800.

The only bad thing (if there is a bad thing) is that the drive is not 7200rpm. But that isn't a big deal since it is a backup drive.
