Don't pay attention to the 3 rating

Review:
The person that gave this a "3" doesn't understand that this is not a problem with this computer. The on-screen keyboard is on all Tablet PC's. It is there (just prior to entering Windows) to allow you to log on if you have a password, and is easily moveable. Once you're in Windows it goes away. This computer is for work and play (not for high intensity graphics games), but as a home user I take it to my favorite free Wi-fi spot and surf the Net with it on my lap using the pen, nice. I write my journal with a pen rather than typing. It brings out more feeling. Typing is so prosaic while the pen gets you in touch with other parts of your being. It's great for seminars and class, or just doodling. The base model is fine for most uses. If you want a light, fun computing experience you can't beat this. I tried a Toshiba R15, heavy (2 extra pounds) and hot on you lap not to mention inadequate graphics. I took the Toshiba back and got the tc4200. The tc4200 is just right. Worried about no optical drive? Just go and buy one online for $50 or $60 and plug it in when you need to load a program from a CD. My handwriting is awful but this machine gets about 80 to 85% right. It's really easy to make corrections. Tablets aren't for everyone but, I just love it.

On-screen keyboard, can't get rid of it, it blocks the screen!

Review:
The on-screen keyboard seems to have been pre-loaded at the factory. Not a good idea. It covers two fifths of the screen, which is already small. I have searched online forums but seem to be the only person with this problem. The lack of documentation referencing this program makes matters worse. it was purchased online from HP. Definitely try before you buy--but again, I LOVE the size and concept.
