"This brings back the appeal of a tablet notebook"
Pros: Excellent speed, USB ports on the side and back, vivid screen, bluetooth antenna, and WIFI b and g with a DVD burner.
Cons: Flimsy screen, poor quality tablet pen, and a bunch of useless software. Bluetooth antenna without the card. Who puts speakers behind a screen?
Summary: I had a budget of up to $2500 to meet my needs for a healthy laptop with a history of durability. Besides the inflated Panasonic Toughbook series, I've found Tecras to be very reliable in the field and in the office. I came across the M4-S435 while looking for a 60G hardrive, Centrino featured, DVD combo, Bluetooth and WIFI compatible budget notebook. I would agree that the price is a little high compared to traditional notebooks but the features offered make it hard to beat. If your going to run this a testing platform running complex programs as I do, upgrade to 1Ghz of RAM or more. With the Centrino processor, I get a little more than three hours of battery life. Keep the screen in tablet mode, get an upgraded tablet pen, and junk the piles of Toshiba marketed software, and you'll find a very capable notebook.Updated
Since I haven't used it, seems easy to forget about the 3 year warranty direct from Toshiba. Just another great reason to try this machine for your computing needs.

I ordered this laptop powered with everthing. 1.5mb RAM DVD burner... I love the tablet functionality and the fact that all of the wifi components are internal.. Very easy to transport.
