"Tecra Good, Battery and Dock Bad"
Pros: Speed, Reliability, screen size
Cons: Low-Life Battery, Dock is difficult to use, Overwhelmed with Toshiba services
Summary: We looked at a number of tablets to fill our needs and the tecra M4 came out on top. After a few months of use (115 in our organization), the battery life is the biggest criticism I hear. I can get about 2 hours on full power and that's about maximum. That's way down from a Toshiba Satellite Tablet that I use and I cannot figure out why Toshiba would take a step back like that.
Another criticism is the number of services that Toshiba has determined I need. They have taken over the Windows utilities with some of their own stuff for power settings, and the Intel Proset Wireless complicates matters for those users who commonly use Windows to configure their wireless. More advanced users can get rid of the services and shouldn't have problems with the Intel Proset.
We are a high school and all teachers have these units. For the most part, everyone is happy and there has only been one failure of an optical drive out of 90 teachers. We also have a pilot group of 28 students using Tecra M4s. These students have had several lost/broken pieces that we attribute to them/their parents not having spent any money to buy the machines. We have a couple of students who actually purchased a Tecra M4 for themselves who are very happy and have not taken any damage/losses at this point. It is, by and large, a great product.

the slim select bay (where the disc drive is) is removable by the switch on the bottom, and therefore, you can swap between extra batteries ( which will give you between 5-12 hours according to a review i read ), extra hard drives for more storage, although they are pricey, and cd or dvd drives. Pretty sweet laptop, if i do say so myself, thinking of buying one in a few months. works really well in stores, love the tablet and keyboard combo.
