  • "The Bleeding Light is Annoying"
    2.0 stars
    on by Copperankh

Pros: It's thin enough to slice a cake, yet still feels firm enough not to seem flimsy and cheap. There are a lot of tablet-specific appls to purchase and the UI feels snappy and responsive.

Cons: Still too heavy to use as an ebook reader. Requires dongles for HDMI and SD.

Oh, and the blacklight is bleeding through in TWO spots, but it's only noticeable when the screen is on! I'm taking it back Monday. Can't believe I waited in line for this.

Summary: It's very annoying to get home, start up a new device and find a flaw in it. The bleeding of the backlight is a very blaring flaw too. I should have checked the product out as soon as I got to the car, but I seriously thought Apple was better at quality control than this.

If it's bleeding light, you should take it to Apple and get a new one. They'll take a brand new one off the shelf and hand it to you.

That's what i did with mine, and now I have a perfect new iPad 2. There are many reasons Apple customers are loyal, and ione is because Apple's service is the best in the industry.

I happen to agree with getting a new product only to find a problem with it. Quality control in todays world seems to be a thing of the past.

    "you got me there"?!?!
Seriously? Why is it always competition for these apple fanboys? He's posting a personal review of a product. Why do you take it so personally...

If you wanted ebook reaader why didn't you save yourself the money and buy, say a Kindle? Also, before purchasing this as an ebook reader (which I use it for as well as many other things) did you feel the weight before buying?

As to the bleeding, you got me there. I fortunately do not have the issue. Apparently there are/were two display types being used in the Ipad and one manufacturers has the issue. I would certainly check my device with the 14 day exchange period to be sure.
