"Not a device of choice" on by salmanzk
Pros: I like its look and display
Cons: it has no usb port ,camera and flash support
Summary: This device can't replace my ipaq, so no need of wasting money on the same available features just for a large screen. I will wait for HP Slate which has all the features to replace a laptop

My friend be careful what you wish for. I was extremely happy when
I purchased "HP Travel companion" very upped version of Ipaq. What a marvel it was - WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, running Windows Mobile 5. With that sync with Outlook, Excel, Word and even PowerPoint. This besides all other standard applications. (GPS already preloaded with USA/Canada maps). But problems started soon after, let's say after several months. To get help from HP is not easy task, you have to spend long time on the phone. Going there I found out I wasn't alone. Lot of people with similar problems. And HP must have known (and very well) about them. There were some patches, some info and some instruction. Then in about one and half year "HP Travel companion" went kaput...
HP stopped making them altogether. Now reading your piece, with your high hopes for "Slate", I can't help but writing this info of mine. I do not condemned HP as a whole brand. I have three devices they make. So this either: hit or bust... -
If you were reviewing an iPaq 2, then your review would be totally appropriate. Given your not, your comments have zero value. You give 1 star cause it doesn't do the things you want. That would be like giving a car one star because it cant fly or transform into a boat, and those are the only features that matter to you. How about you review it for how well it does the things it was built to do?

The HP slate will have maybe half the battery life and it has already been shown to do very poorly running any kind of HD video. The screen is also smaller. Sorry the Slate just does work a full day on a charge.

What's an iPaq?

Do you have an iPad? Have you ever used an iPad? I am not an i Pad fan but this one-star review has Apple hater written all over it.
