  • "Forced to buy this for my wife"
    1.0 stars

Pros: Its shiny! And apple stockholders must be happy that apple has managed to dime and nickel everyone who gets sucked in! My wife likes it.

Cons: Its just an expensive toy. All of the hype from the media "oh it will change computing" I don't really see happening (typing this on my netbook right now). It doesn't replace any peripherals, it adds one.

Summary: I love the iPod touch (I have the 1st and 3rd gen) and they are essentially nice little pocket computers. My wife loved playing with mine so much that I decided to order her an iPad. After doing some playing around I realize how big of a waste of money this thing is. The news subscriptions, apps, and books are more expensive than on other devices (or on paper). I don't know if this things for you, go for it. Its not for me!

This thing is not for me, either.

So. Jake, Did your wife force you on the sofa until you ponied up the dough for one of these? As an Apple shareholder, thank your wife for me.

That's nice of you that you feel for your wife to buy her such a gift. Good on ya. Well, you are expressing your opinion towards the machine and your wife as to @BillSkinzFifth multiple rants towards those that gives more than one star.

People are going to disagree of course. However, I have an Iphone. It (along with android phones) are great for quick views of almost any content anywhere you are. But let's face it, the experience is not very rich. In one weekend I'm using the IPAD for 90% of computer uses. I also uses it as substitute for Apple TV or Netflix streaming device. Reading books, magazines, and comics on a laptop is very cumbersome, not so with the IPAD.

It does look like a nice toy to have, and the price does seem reasonable, especially for an Apple product. I mean, it is what it is, a bigger Ipod, a good and bad thing, just like every product out there. But the only thing I dont like is how people hyped it up saying it will be revolutionary. I mean, it is different, but not really a step forward, its something in between. If anything, this is the slimest tablet on the market now. But like every tablet, you cant fit it in your pocket. Me personality, I determine the portablity of a product by if you can fit it in your pocket or not.

Yea since I own a PC, I dont understand why people are comparing it to laptops when everyone knows its not a laptop replacement. Ill keep drinking that Kool-Aid even though I use PCs. I just enjoyed playing with the product yesterday, its a all around good product. 1 star is just to critical.

Sorry about the double post... I thought the first one failed...

Why can't he give this a negative review? Oh, I forgot. You two guys are probably the typical Kool-Aid drinking MAC fanatics that spend a small fortune just to be in a room with a bottle of Steve Jobs' sweat...

Negative reviews, ESPECIALLY for an Apple product are the only ones that can really be trusted because there are so many people such as yourselves that can't handle even the most remote attack on an Apple product.

I for one, found the review very helpful. It doesn't mean that I wouldn't buy one, but it gives me some stuff to think about.

Boy oh boy, the Kool-Aid drinking MAC fanatics just can't handle the fact that some people don't like the iPad...

His reasoning is NOTHING that should make someone speechless... and he is more than able to review with only 1 star because HE reviewed it, Not his wife...

I for one, always think reading the negative reviews are more helpful because they list whatever the user thinks are faults. Negative reviews are WAY more helpful than some flowery sugar coated review that some MAC geek wrote who buys into all of the ridiculous hype and types what can be considered just a romantic love letter aimed at Steve Jobs...

Dumb down review! One star for your reasons is just speechless. Once again, comparing this to a laptop or netbook is pointless!

I don't think you really justify giving this one star if your wife likes it!
