"Returned it."
on by drewuPros Light, cheap, wide-screen, Android
Cons Screen is terrible. Specifically the glass is so thin that it flexes when you touch it, and when it flexes, the touchscreen stops working.
Summary I really wanted to like it since it's like half the price of an iPad, but in this case, you get what you pay for.

"Great for web surfing and book reading."
on by billdom1Pros Good price at $259 in Tiger Direct, everything I've tried work so far even flash. Decent screen quality, USB and micro USB ports, HDMI output, Micro SD card slot, the kick stand is very effective and convenient.
Cons No Android Market or flash out of the box, you'll need to update the included AppsLib app in order to download and install Arctools and then you'll be able to install Android Market and support for Flash. Touch screen not as sensitive in the edges as it i
Summary Bought my Archos 101 8 GB over a week ago, I was looking for a tablet mostly for web browsing and checking emails in order to avoid carrying a heavier laptop around the house. I've been surprised on how much more it can do. Not all yahoo accounts can be accessed via email apps, I have a yahoo email account and the only way I can access it is using the yahoo web interface via the browser, not a big deal, use yahoo mobile web interface over the regular web interface for faster and more agile feel. Gmail and other email providers can be accessed via apps.
There are a lots of comments and videos around the web stating that this tablet does not support Flash, THIS IS NOT TRUE, out of the box it is not installed however, you can get flash and the Android market by following this steps.
- Update AppsLib application. Out of the box, AppsLib dos not work, you need to update it and this is pretty easy. Just run AppsLib and tap on the only thing that is displayed, the update option.
- Once updated, use AppsLib to find Arctools, download and install it.
- Run Arctools and look for the option to download and install flash and Android Market.
After the above steps are executed, you'll need to reboot. Flash content will be shown with a down arrow in the browser, tap on the arrow and the flash content will be show. This give you control on what flash content you want to see. Performance is not great for flash, close any other apps to improve performance. So far every apps I have installed from the Android Market is working well.
The kick stand behind the tablet looks flimsy in videos and pictures but it have a very solid feel and it is very effective. -

Summary I love this thing, boots faster than a computer, online in less than a min, can surf, read ebooks, watch movies, I am not sure about complaints of the touch screen? I am not having problems. This thing is fast! games are cool.

"Great tablet for the price"
on by meowlisePros The Archos 101 has everything you need in a tablet, you can surf the web, watch videos, play games, read ebooks, etc. You can access the android market by downloading ArcTools from the Archos appslib. Then you can install flash 10.
Cons The widescreen size is different. Only 256mb ram.
Summary I would highly recommend this tablet if you are looking for all the functionality at a reasonable price. I haven't had any problems with wifi or the touchscreen. Battery life is very good. You can also access your shared folders on your pc and listen to music, watch videos, view photos, etc. via wifi.
