  • "CANNOT BELIEVE CNET RECOMMENDED THIS TABLET"

Pros: Quad-core processor and it looks good.

    Cons: 1) QUALITY ISSUES
    2) WIFI reception is very pooor as distance from the router is increased.
    3) Random browser lockups
    4) ASUS is already on thier 3rd hardware revision of the product, still has issues.
    5) Too many users having problems.

Summary: I recommend anyone considering purchase of this product to check out the forum posts at:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1412

ASUS's own Technical Marketing Manager is fielding customer directly on the forum. Many more issues that I mentioned above. You can also see the discussion where retailers have stopped carrying the porduct due to quality issues. I returned mine as I was not confident that ASUS would fix the wifi issues. Many are speculating the aluminum backing is significantly limiting wifi performance and the problem cannot be fixed until ASUS replaces the Aluminum back.
Good Luck to anyone that buys this tablet. Once you see the forum discussions, you'll understand why you will need luck if buying this tablet.

Thanks for the good luck. I purchased TWO. one from best buy with an oops warranty (handy little out) that had a C10 serial. I'll explain, The letter C means it was produced in 2012. The other came from Gamestop and had a BCO serial meaning it was made in 2011. NEITHER ONE HAVE WIFI ISSUES. According to an interview with an ASUS rep on THIS site. Less than one percent have this issue.
I am beginning to wonder if you even shelled out for the device. :/
Heck if you were so dissatisfied why didn't you come out and say you asked asus for an RMA?

Another clown who doesn't own the device and has never used it. I ACTUALLY own the device, and the only issue I've had is the GPS not locking. Of course no one complains that the ipad 2 doesn't even HAVE GPS. I never used the GPS on my previous tablet, so this is moot point for most tablet buyers. My wifi works all over the house and has never dropped a signal. The device is physically GORGEOUS and sturdy. I have never had browser lock ups.

Bottom line? Best tablet on the market hands down.
