"Workhorse tablet."4.0 starson by Azger
Pros: Keyboard, nice clean android load, fast, excellent battery life, good camera
Cons: A little heavy for a tablet, long charge time (hot charger!) Longer boot time than other tablets. Screen washout in strong sun.
Summary: Love it.
I bought this as a replacement for a Samsung Galaxy Tab that I did not quite love out of the box. This thing does real work. I just shot 3 hours of UX QA-test video, using it as a backup camera. It took great video and it was easier to use than the Nikon D5100 on the tripod. The battery lasts a couple of days. I feel perfectly comfortable not having to lug my Dell Latitude E6510 around. With a micro mouse, it is a pretty acceptable laptop alternative.
Kudos to Google for making Android better with each release, and creds to Asus for a nice clean distro that is uncluttered with fluff and crud and has a lot of useful basics. Nice cloud integration too, and for no extra cost.
The real bonus is support for SD and microsd, USB & tethering - it's a nice hub tool for media exchange, demoing media and social media. I particularly liked the fact that it happily found my NAS server and will stream media off it without a hiccup. it will even connect with USB hard drives.
Ergonomically, I find its slight fatness comfortable for reading, with a very positive hand feel thanks to the the grippy, beveled back. Might not be the prettiest of the bunch, but its homely.
28 year computer corp veteran of DEC, Compaq, HP, and Dell and this is my all time favorite little handheld computing device bar none. (sorry iPaq). I've actually used early "road warrior" thin and light notebooks that were not much bigger than the Asus. (and cost $3000).
