"RIP Play book"on by Don Pepin
Pros Every thing
Cons THE NAME
Could not they find a proper business name at the first place.
Summary The winner takes it all. Playbook is dead an buried, I have Just bought two 64GB for around 130$ each.
I am using one and it is Great (application outdated), now a days you need an up date every 90 days most.
I am keeping the second Besides several PALM devices and phones.
most of these will be useful in future for MBA students under the subject of how some idiots turned into executives and blew up a company.
Making a tablet for business environment and they call it PLAY BOOK, the as well could have called it PLAYBOY or Face booklet.
Pros Well built, good display, lots of multitasking, great software for businessmen.
Cons Very thick and heavy, screen could be better, bad camera, low amount of features, app world is way way behind and destroys the experience, browser is frustrating and checkerboards.
Summary The playbook is a cheap tablet and great for businessmen, also great for little kids because it is so cheap. But for me, I buy tablets for bigger screen and amazing processing power. witch comes in handy with games and watching movies and surfing the web. but the playbooks screen is ok, quite slow,a terrible browser and you cant download chrome of firefox, and has such a low amount of apps. 5.99$ for Angry Birds? If blackberry got Google Play support like the nook that would launch blackberry. you could get a cheap tablet with lots of games to occupy your kids. 4 out of 10
Pros Cameras are great.
Cons The blackberry app store is terrible. No netflix, Skype, Instagram or anything!!
Summary Getting it jailbroken as soon as I am around a computer. Don't care about the manufacturer warranty being voided.
Pros Portability, Price, FLASH
Cons No expandable memory (but that seems to be a tablet standard and not a Blackberry-specific woe)
Pros OS is simple, and easy to use (Gestures)
OS 2.0 means playbook apps + android apps
Very nice design / os design
Awesome browser - best i've seen in a tablet + Flash
Blackberry bridge is REALLY useful
Ppt, word, excel come free
Designed in canada! :)
Cons Blackberry bridge only works with blackberry (duh)
Start button is hard to press, but you'll only need to press it once.
Screen is small BUT it is the same size as other 7-inch tablets, so I wouldn't consider this a negative.
Summary The playbook is great. If you have a blackberry already, you must get one. If you don't, you should look into the playbook. I love the OS, and especially android app support. Although the 7-inch screen is small, it is the same size as other 7-inch tablets, so I'm not going to complain about it. But, the 7-inch size does mean it holds in your hand, and slips in your bag.
And one last thing... RIM actually has some common sense!
They include a case that goes over your playbook to protect it! If you're the kind of person (like me) than keeps dropping their electronics, this is REALLY useful!
