Quick Take: Last year, the Garmin iQue 3600 blazed a new trail by combining a GPS receiver and a Palm PDA in one device. Now the company has released a scaled-back version with a lower price. The iQue 3200 has a smaller screen (3 inches diagonal and 320x320 pixels vs.3.8 inches diagonal and 320x480), and it lacks the MP3 player, the voice recorder, and the headset jack. It does include SDIO support, so you could, for example, add a Bluetooth adapter; it also includes a car adapter kit. It comes equipped with the same 200MHz Motorola processor, 32MB of memory, and standard PDA functions found on the 3600. Yet the main attraction remains its GPS capabilities, the handheld ships with maps of the United States and Canada, and it gives voice-guided directions. Of course, you could also add GPS to your existing handheld using Bluetooth wireless. The iQue 3200 costs about $50 less than the 3600, so you should be able to find the 3200 on the street for a little more than $400. Perhaps not coincidentally, that also puts it in direct competition with the Mitac Mio 168, which also has a GPS receiver onboard. Even on complex highway interchanges,it has great, fast instruction.

Pros: Great graphics.

Cons: GPS is great, but there's not much else...

Review: I have a different PDA for my main phone, e-mail, etc. so this is just a GPS for me, and I'm very happy with it. Compaired to other GPS that I've worked with, you adapt to it quickly and it will often reach an accuracy around 5 feet on major roads. Also, instead of "turn left" like previous models of GPS, it'll say and picture "Turn slight left in 0.2 mi., then turn right in 0.5 mi.". Very detailed.

very happy to have purchased the 3200

Pros: as long as the map is updated, never get lost

Cons: if you have to re synq and your not at home

Review: I have had my iQue 3200 since they arrived in the stores in Canada. I am very pleased with it. at the beginning I seemed to have problems but soon found out the problems were me and not the 3200. once I got all the bugs out of my system. ha. I was able to fully understand how to use the 3200. sure it needs a reboot every once in awhile but so does every other computer system out there. I never leave home without it.

great when it works

Pros: inexpensive, palm features, accurate navigation

Cons: loses memory time and again

Review: I frequently travel for business and have to drive to places I have not been before. Plus, I tend to get lost and have a poor sense of direction. I have had this product for several months. I purchased a 512K card to hold extra map data. Problem is, almost every time that I allow the unit's battery to drain to empty, my detail map data is lost or the general map data and voice command file is lost. I then am stuck without navigation. I like this unit very much but it is just not reliable. I plan to buy a Garmin C320.

Convenient, easy to use...no problems for a year

Pros: Good user interface, easy to use car cradle, helpful as can be!

Cons: Small screen size, short battery life

Review: I've had my 3200 for over a year now and can't imagine having to drive without it. In fact, I recently cracked the screen (don't put it in your jeans pocket unless you're wearing a size, 2x larger than what you normally wear), sent it in for repair and miss it tremendously. While the screen is a bit small, it works adequately and the only issue I would have if I drove in a large urban city like New York, is that the map screen update function is fairly slow. I simply change to the turn-by-turn directions and that works fine.

Battery life is a little low, but for what I use it for, it's fine. I'm in business development so use it primarily to drive to my clients and to use it as my Palm for appts, reminders, etc. I had my old Palm Vx stolen so rationalized the extra $120 to get one with GPS. Needless to say, I'm very glad I did.

GPS works AWSOME

Pros: Integration from address book to GPS

Cons: Does crash when using GPS on occasion. This requires a hard rest to fix.

Review: For the price you can't ask for anything better. This product is great!

Everything you expect from a PDA/GPS...but...

Pros: Intergrated antenna makes GPS capabilities easier, Routing voice doesn't sound annoying, all GPS function are available (inc. it's own business directory)

Cons: Once in a while it will freeze and you have to reset it, overheats if you forget it in the car, expansion software is expensive, processor speed is a little slow, no MP3 playing capabilities

Review: After owning the Garmin iQue for about 3 months, I have been very happy with my purchase. The reason why I was initially interested in this PDA is because it offers all the functions found on your normal GPS machines so offers you the bargain and mobility of a PDA and GPS in one instead of buying each one separately. And with the integrated design, unlike other GPS attachments for PDAs, the iQue's antenna can be tucked away when it's not in use.

As for the GPS function itself, I am happy that the car cradle/external speaker is included in the entire package because the onboard speaker on this machine is fine, but it's definitely not loud enough when you are driving with your windows down.

Now for the bad stuff:
-Although the it does everything it says i does, the iQue seems to freeze once in a while and then you have to reset it, but don't worry, all your information will still be on there, if not don't sweat because it's all backed up on your computer anyway, so hot-sync it at least everyday.

-Being a GPS mainly for the car, and since i have a tendancy to forget things in my car, I have definitely forgotten this in my car. Well, once you get it out of your car after it's been sitting there for about 2 hours in the california summer heat, it'll be so hot it won't even turn on; you'll have to wait until the whole thing cools down.

-Originally I bought this for my car, office and that stuff, but i also wanted to get it because i was going to travel to europe and i didn't want to get lost. The only problem is, the soft ware is kind of pricy for a poor college student. $350.00

-no mp3 player

Disgraceful

Pros: Sorry none that come to mind

Cons: There are so many. The screen is impossible to read in daylight. The SD card corrupts continuously resulting in a loss of data. Too many navigational errors in large cities. Battery life is too short

Review: If you are at all tempted to purchase this device the take back up street directories as you will need them.

Smart PDA/GPS

Pros: Integrated GPS, Bright Color Screen, Voice Guided, Expandable

Cons: Cannot maximize to full screen, SD Card limited to 512, No MP3, Annoying Flip Cover

Review: I was nearing a purchase of the Garmin V GPS unit when a friend told me he had the Bluetooth GPS for his PDA. After research, I ran across the iQue 3200 and iQue 3600. I paid $299 for the iQue 3200 and I was about to pay $250 for the Garmin V. The extra $49 gave me a new color PDA, as I have also been looking to upgrade my [archaic] Palm IIIe PDA, and compared to the Garmin V, it is no contest. This palm has as much memory as SD cards permit and I have the entire east coast on one 512 card. Most GPS units on the lower end are limited to internal memory that can't usually hold more than maybe one city. It also has a sharp color screen, integrates with the palm address book, and is quite easy and convenient. The advantage to the iQue 3600 is that it has a MP3 player and the screen fully expands, but, the iQue 3200 comes with the car adapter and nav kit, ($50+), an improved screen, an the SD card slot is also an SDIO port for added accessories. I travel frequently, always with my PDA, and now having one with GPS to easily take me anywhere without reading a map while driving is highly addictive. One other note - my 1 GB card would not work and I learned from Garmin Tech Support that the unit cannot read more than 512 MB.

Love my iQue

Pros: Easy to use. Point to point directions

Cons: Crashes about once a month but easy reset button on back.

Review: As a Trucker I wonder how I ever made it all those years with out it. No more trying to see street signs at night looking for that next turn. Even tells eta to destination which I find to be real close to help me plan my time and breaks. When using the car kit the volume is great. It is loud and clear even over all the noise in a semi. It is small and very portable. I had always carried a palm Vx with all my numbers and directions but now I combine the best of both into one unit. If you travel and need a PDA what more could you want?

crashes when u most need it

Pros: Very accurate, excelent sat reception, extensive list of points of interest with phone numbers, good price, vehicle mount included

Cons: it quits on you when u most need it

Review: Confusing directions when in big cities. If u miss a turn it will recalculate and give u an alternate route but be carefull, if u miss many turns it will crash trying to recalculate again and then u r screwed cuz it will loose it's memory(like any other palm pilot) and unless u have a laptop right next to u, it's useless. I drove 4 hours to New Orleans, LA for a weekend. After spending 1 hour downtown trying to find the hotel (directions where confusing) when i finally did find the hotel it crashed and lost memory with maps. I had to spend the whole weekend lost, asking for direction. My advise: spend a little more money and get a better product

Nice but unreliable

Pros: Works well as a gps, if the unit works.

Cons: Very unreliable unit or software. I had problems with 256 MB SD Card. I got message "The handheld cannot recognize this card". This problem was fixed when I sent unit for one week for repair. Now there is same problem again after 3 months.

Excellent navigation, unusable display

Pros: The iQue 3200 has some good points. The turn by turn instructions are excellent. The GPS receiver seems to be quite sensitive and the integral antenna works fine with the unit located on the dashboard. The Palm operating system is a big improvement over

Cons: Bad features of the 3200 are: no removable battery, the display is hard to read in sunlight, 32 MB RAM is insufficient memory, it should be possible to store the Address information on the SD card rather than in RAM and, for totally incomprehensible reaso

Great Mapping, Really Good PDA

Pros: As good or better than dash mount GPS mapping units costing 4 times as much. Unless you're hiking across the country battery life is no problem!

Cons: To many icons on home screen and no apparant way to get rid of them.
